PEDAGOGICAL WORKSHOP IN CHEMISTRY LICENTIATE WITH EXPERIMENTS AND ALTERNATIVE MATERIALS FOR ELEMENTARY EDUCATION

Resumo: | The aim of this study is to describe the realization of a pedagogical workshop directed at future chemistry teachers targeting their qualification to develop experiments with alternative materials when working as teachers. It is an experience report from a training activity held in June 2017 during Chemist's Week at the IF Sertão Pernambucano in Petrolina-PE. All 36 participants are undergraduate students of the Chemistry Licentiate Degree course at this institution. In addition to reflecting upon experimenting for sciences teaching, five experimental practices were developed and the need for planning and linking theory and practice became evident, also the difference between demonstrative and participative activities, including the teacher as a mediator. Data collection about their evaluation of the training was through a three question, printed questionnaire, one of which was closed with Likert scale answers. The evaluation showed many potentials to be explored in the classroom while developing the experiments. Thus, the workshop involving activities focused on teaching natural sciences in Elementary Education may also be considered as complementary, necessary training for future chemistry teachers. |

Configura-se como um relato de experiência cuja atividade formativa ocorreu no mês de junho de 2017, durante a realização da Semana do Químico do IF Sertão Pernambucano, cidade de Petrolina-PE. Todos os 36 participantes são estudantes em formação do curso de Licenciatura em Química dessa instituição. Além da reflexão sobre a importância da experimentação para o ensino de ciências, foram desenvolvidas cinco práticas experimentais, que alimentaram discussões sobre: a necessidade de planejamento e articulação entre teoria e prática, diferenças entre uma atividade demonstrativa ou participativa, e a importância da postura mediadora do professor. Como instrumento para coletar dados sobre como avaliaram essa formação, foi utilizado um questionário impresso, constituído por três questões, sendo apenas uma delas fechada com respostas em escala Likert. A avaliação apontou potenciais a serem explorados em sala de aula quando os experimentos forem desenvolvidos.
