The present work focuses on the concept of school culture, taking as a reference the teaching of mathematics and its historical aspects. For the development of the study, searches were carried out on the website of the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES) in the Catalog of Theses and Dissertations in the last five years, with the purpose of identifying and collecting contributions already produced by different authors who addressed the theme in their investigations. The research was developed having as its core question: How does the school culture theme touch on the research investigated? This is a bibliographic research, with a qualitative and interpretative approach. As theoretical contributions that served as a basis for this research, we have the following authors: Grazziotin, Klaus and Pereira (2022), Silva (2006), Garnica (2015), Morosini and Fernandes (2014), Julia (2001), Chartier (2010), Chervel (1990), Viñao (2006 and 2000). The research results also allow us to affirm that it is through the idea of ​​school culture that there seems to be a space for the development of new research, from which more on this topic can emerge in a country with such diversity.
