CRITICAL THINKING IN SCIENCES: TEMPORARY COMPARATIVE STUDY OF CONCEPTS IN PRODUCTIONS

Resumo: In today's world, more and more skills are required of students, such as problem solving, decision-making, reflection, autonomy and the ability to think and act critically. The school community is very important for the development of these capacities, because it is through strategies and teaching methodologies that they are stimulated and constructed. In this context, the promotion of Critical Thinking is considered the main precursor of these and other capacities, because it puts in risk the way different teaching strategies are used, as well as the programs for the training of Science teachers. Having this in mind, a documentary analysis was performed in 23 academic works available in Brazilian repositories, analyzing the authors that conceptualize the PC mentioned in those repositories. It was concluded that the concept of PC adopted for its promotion predominated in 10 to 23 academic works was good, being rational, practical, active and reflexive. It is important to say that most of the Brazilian productions adopt the Portuguese concepts and sometimes they don’t even mention Brazilian references of this area. However, it is crucial to remind that these abilities go over teaching and changing, in a positive way, the social context of the student, impacting their professional, affective and social life as a whole.

A comunidade escolar é fundamental para o desenvolvimento dessas capacidades, pois é por meio de estratégias e metodologias de ensino que elas são estimuladas e construídas. Neste contexto, considera-se a promoção do Pensamento Crítico como o principal precursor destas e doutras capacidades, pois coloca em xeque o modo como são utilizadas diferentes estratégias de ensino, bem como são estabelecidos os programas de formação de professores em Ciências. Pensando nisso, realizou-se análise documental em 23 trabalhos acadêmicos disponíveis em repositórios brasileiros, analisando os autores que conceituam o pensamento crítico. Concluiu-se que o conceito de PC adotado como ideal para a sua promoção, predominou em 10 dos 23 trabalhos acadêmicos, sendo este de caráter racional, prático, ativo e reflexivo. Além de identificar que a maioria das produções brasileiras adotam os conceitos portugueses e fazem pouca menção a referências brasileiras da área.
