APPROACH TO PROPORTIONAL REASONING IN SOME TEXTBOOKS FOR YAE

Resumo: | This text is the result of a master's research developed in connection with the Graduate Program in Education at the Federal University of Mato Grosso. The objective of the study was to analyze whether the way in which the proportionality content is made available in the selected textbook collections meets the two roles of mathematical activity - functional and formative - as highlighted in the Curriculum Proposal for the Second Segment of Youth and Adult Education (YAE). Based on Laurence Bardin's (2011) content analysis, an interpretation of three book collections, which were used in public schools between 2002 and 2010, was carried out, seeking to observe whether they presented, as a starting point for mathematical activity, the resource of problem solving and if the aspects considered essential for the development of proportional reasoning were mobilized. The interpretation shows that two of the selected collections provided the integration of the formative role with the functional role, while the third collection partially meets this integration, suggesting the possibility of the Mathematics teacher using the books selected in the research not as a central guiding resource of their practice, but as a tool that complements their pedagogical practice. |

El objetivo de la investigación fue analizar si la forma por medio de la cual el contenido de proporcionalidad está disponible en las colecciones de libros didácticos seleccionadas cumple con los dos roles de la actividad matemática, funcional y formativa, como se destaca en la Propuesta Curricular del Segundo Segmento de Educación de Jóvenes y Adultos (EJA). Con base en el análisis de contenido de Laurence Bardin (2011), se realizó una interpretación de tres colecciones, utilizadas en escuelas públicas entre 2002 y 2010, buscando observar si presentaban, como punto de partida para la actividad matemática, el recurso de resolución de problemas y se movilizaron los aspectos considerados fundamentales para el desarrollo del razonamiento proporcional. La interpretación muestra que dos de las colecciones seleccionadas proponen la integración del rol formativo con el rol funcional, mientras que la tercera colección responde parcialmente a esta integración, sugiriendo la posibilidad de que el docente de Matemáticas utilice los libros seleccionados en la investigación no como principal recurso orientador de su práctica, sino como una herramienta que complementa su dinámica pedagógica.Este texto resulta de uma pesquisa de mestrado desenvolvida no Programa de Pós-Graduação em Educação da Universidade Federal de Mato Grosso. O objetivo da pesquisa consistiu em analisar se o modo como o conteúdo de proporcionalidade está disponibilizado nas coleções de livros didáticos selecionadas atende aos dois papéis da atividade matemática – funcional e formativo – conforme destaca a Proposta Curricular para o Segundo Segmento da Educação de Jovens e Adultos. Pautados na análise de conteúdo de Laurence Bardin (2011), realizou-se a análise interpretativa de três coleções, utilizadas na rede pública de ensino entre os anos de 2002 e 2010, buscando observar se estas apresentavam, como ponto de partida da atividade matemática, o recurso de resolução de problemas e se mobilizavam os aspectos considerados essenciais para o desenvolvimento do raciocínio proporcional.
