Resumo: | The human experiences acquired in everyday life make individuals identify with a model of social organization and group themselves through their personal choices. Inserted in this context, adventure sports have been attracting people's attention and, with the growing interest of different age groups and social classes, this type of practice started to have a guaranteed space in the media, increasing the number of interested and adepts. Following the trend in this sporting context, the State of Mato Grosso is experiencing an expansion in the number of people interested in and practitioners of adventure sports. Mato Grosso offers, through its natural resources, in the diversity of its ecosystems and its territorial extension, suitable spaces for the development of these adventure practices. The choice of modality, the motivations and attitudes that practitioners adopt in the midst of established social relationships, the way in which the media has been portraying these adventure body practices, the skills presented by drivers and companies that offer such practices, among many other factors, show a style of behavior – which affects the way of understanding these new sports. In this sense, the objective of this research is to present and analyze the polysemy present in adventure sports practices offered in Mato Grosso - Rafting, Rappel and Boia Cross - from the Analytical Model of the 5 Es, presented by professor and researcher Wanderley Marchi Jr. (2015). The research is qualitative and descriptive and uses different instruments for data collection, such as: questionnaire; semi-structured interviews, participant observation, as well as field records, through narrative experiences, which make up the subjective perceptions of the research. From this (polysemic) understanding, it was possible to identify and highlight the main interpretive and analytical references of the researched modalities from the composition of a model whose basis is presented in an expanded perspective and with multiple senses, meanings, contexts and dimensions. The results from Rafting, Rappel and Boia Cross brought different perspectives to the understanding of the adventure sports phenomenon, maintaining an assiduous dialogue with the following analyzed dimensions: emotion, ethics, aesthetics and, mainly, the educational dimension, expanding the debate on this field in addition to the technical and specific component of the mentioned practices. We took the discussion to other dimensions in contemporary times, for example, emotional and social health, technology, the process of linking experiences to social networks, as a determining factor for success and selffulfillment, personal, educational and environmental values, not only the subjectivities present in the narrative experiences, but also the outstanding dimensional aspects in each modality researched in its context of practice by different groups. It is hoped that, from this study, new research will emerge in this context in order to contribute to this new sports field being better understood and valued not only for the growth of the academic area, but also for the development of adventure sports in the country itself. State, recognizing the demand with a view to enhancing a quality offer that brings positive implications for the social sphere. |

State, recognizing the demand with a view to enhancing a quality offer that brings positive implications for the social sphere.
