In this study was considered the illness and death by cancer on youth in which the situation of the family becomes more complex. Objective: understand the family experience to watch the young man with leukemia outside the possibilities of cure. Methodology: qualitative research of comprehensive base that is configured as a "study of situation". The context of life considered in this study is the experienced by the family of Star, twenty years diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, outside of the therapeutic possibilities of cure. In collecting the data was through the History of Life operationalized by the in-depth interview and observation, that composed the research journal. The thorough reading of the research journal allowed the classification of narratives in three themes: Experience of the chronic illness for young cancer and the constellation of care woven by the family: The Allegory of the constellation we understand the (re) family organization through the movement and the care that generates family togetherness around the Young; Spirituality as a way of life and coping strategy of illness and finitude, where spirituality and religiosity arise as a way of life and reaffirming front of illness and finitude; Death as natural event: young's experience with cancer: Understanding the experience of death and dying of young man with cancer, has shown that this process can be perceived as something that generates personal growth by providing an invaluable wealth of learning. Final considerations: We believe that this study urges health professionals to seek a form of care that enhances the subjectivity of each person, and the only way how to experience their conflicts in the face of serious illness and death, because we will only be able to take care of the other with mastery from the moment perceive beyond the preestablished techniques. |
