Resumo: | This research seeks to portray and contextualize the trajectory of the Brazilian intellectual Roberto de Oliveira Campos (Roberto Campos), from his birth to the elective position as senator. It addresses the built career, and the scholarship acquired in the seminary. In the seminary, Roberto Campos studied philosophy and theology, and had as colleagues, intellectuals, who will be referenced in the research, such as Antônio Olinto, José Barbosa Rodrigues and Orlando Vilela. He graduated in philosophy in 1933 and in theology in 1937. In 1939, the initial mark of the Second World War, he was able to join the Itamaraty as a diplomat through an approving competition in seventh place. In the career of diplomat, in the United States of America, felt the need to study economics, and years later, "returned" to the Philosophy for the Economy. The Plan of Goals, the Program of Economic and Government Action (PAEG), and the Ten-Year Plan counted on its contribution. He held various positions in the Brazilian federal public administration, was the director and superintendent of the National Bank for Economic Development (BNDE), he held the position of Planning Minister during the Castello Branco administration, which posts his signature on many of the actions. Abroad he held positions of ambassador in Washington and London. This experience outside Brazil made him a well-known intellectual, creating international power relations, and, enthusiastically, produced several articles in the fields of economics and politics, as well as dozens of books, which accredited him to join the Brazilian Academy of Letters , In 1999, after being Senator of the Republic by Mato Grosso (1983 to 1990) and Federal Deputy for Rio de Janeiro (1991 to 1998). His return to Mato Grosso to run for senator of the republic closes the dissertation. |

Aborda a carreira construída, e a erudição adquirida no seminário.
