In this study, the central theme is sustainable development and a possible understanding of this sustainability in the discourse of workers in the electricity sector. Based on specific objectives that seek to historically contextualize the terms sustainable development (SD) and sustainability (S), conceptualize non-formal education and teaching, with an emphasis on business organizations, analyze workers' quality of life concepts in relation to discourse of sustainability, this investigation is characterized as a descriptive-transversal research whose methodological design conveys a qualitative approach. The data collected, in the empirical part, were verified through the Textual Discursive Analysis (ATD), by Moraes and Galiazzi (2007), with the participation of seven (07) workers in the electricity sector. The analysis and results were performed according to two (02) emerging intermediate categories: 1) sustainability and personal dimension, followed by a set of three subcategories: personal and professional identity; quality of life and environment; health and safety at Work; 2) sustainability and professional dimension, also three subcategories: training, learning and innovation; electric energy and technologies; Communication. Based on them, arguments were made around the final categories about Life (contextual field of identities and sustainability) and Movement (field of action and sustainability challenges). It was concluded that these final categories are important elements for the conclusive findings of the study, because, through them, the knowledge and understanding of sustainability were resumed in the workers' narrative, in addition to presenting possibilities for non-formal education. formal in the formation of a social ethos, in favor of socio-environmental sustainability and quality of life in contemporary times.
