To know the financial market facilitates the life of any citizen, and the understanding of it is part of the many professionals' daily routine in several areas. However, how to provide the construction of this knowledge to the citizens and professional in the future? This work demonstrates that the financial market can become efficient didactic device when it happens through the methodology of the mathematical modeling, in the classes of financial mathematics. The qualitative research was used during the classes of financial mathematics of a class of mathematics course from UNIFRA, Centro Universitário de Santa Maria, RS, to consider as the mathematical modeling can raise the significant learning of the compound interests, through the obtaining and of the analysis of the data that the finance market provides. The pedagogic action was developed through activities proposed to the students that worked with the researcher, aiming at the construction of a mathematical model that, based in mathematical models described by BURAK (2004), described the financial mechanism in study and allowed an including analysis, and the consequent acquisition of that mathematical content. The data of the research were collected, mainly, through Diaries of Class, properly compiled with the proposal of ZABALZA (2004), and your analysis demonstrates that the mathematical modeling provides a solid construction of the content of the compound interests, contextualized, allied to the conscious action of the student, as well the financial market about.
