Resumo: Adorno understood the artistic phenomenon of expression as a “phenomenon of interference” between the mimetic element and the technique. In music’s case, expression would respond for the force of the particular in its dialectical tension with the universal, which is determinant for the elucidation of the utopian meaning of the idea of a musique informelle: “To make things of which we do not know what they are.” This article aims to show that we can allow a primacy of expression in Adorno.
