A proposal of activity about Problem Solving in Financial Education from the perspective of Critical Mathematics Education

Resumo: The present work is an excerpt from a Master's research that aims to investigate how Financial Education can be worked from the Problem Solving methodology based on Critical Mathematics Education. Through a qualitative research, we present an activity proposal using newspaper news to propose discussions about the contexts in which students live, contributing to the development of critical-reflective competence and to the promotion of citizenship and social justice. The proposal presented is centered on the valorization of real situations as focuses of interest for the problematization, contributing significantly to the financial literacy of Basic Education students.

A través de la investigación cualitativa, presentamos una propuesta de actividad a partir de noticias periodísticas para proponer discusiones sobre los contextos en los que viven los estudiantes, contribuyendo al desarrollo de la competencia crítico-reflexiva y a la promoción de la ciudadanía y la justicia social. La propuesta presentada se centra en la valorización de situaciones reales como focos de interés para la problematización, contribuyendo significativamente a la alfabetización financiera de los estudiantes de Educación Básica.O presente trabalho é um recorte de uma pesquisa que está sendo desenvolvida no âmbito do Mestrado em Ensino de Ciências e Matemática da Universidade Federal de Alagoas e que visa investigar como a Educação Financeira pode ser trabalhada a partir da metodologia de Resolução de Problemas com base na Educação Matemática Crítica. Por meio de uma pesquisa qualitativa, apresentamos uma proposta de atividade com a utilização de notícias de jornal que abordam temas que envolvem a Educação Financeira para propor discussões sobre os contextos em que os alunos vivem, contribuindo para o desenvolvimento da competência crítico-reflexiva e para a promoção da cidadania e da justiça social.
