Resumo: In this article we analyze textbooks on Differential and Integral Calculus with the aim of answering the following question: what meanings are produced by textbook authors for what the teaching of Differential and Integral Calculus is? The objective of the question is part of a broader investigation that seeks to understand what the characteristics of the Differential and Integral Calculus discipline should be so that it can be understood as a Service Course aimed at training future mathematics teachers? The study has a qualitative research approach, based on a bibliographic study and based on the Semantic Fields Model. In our analysis, we identified three different ways in which the authors produce meanings for our question, whose main importance for our research lies in the consequence of these different perspectives and how they signal a proposal for teaching the subject.

In our analysis, we identified three different ways in which the authors produce meanings for our question, whose main importance for our research lies in the consequence of these different perspectives and how they signal a proposal for teaching the subject.
