The study of notable quadrilaterals in a Mathematics textbook: a look to the mathematical organization

This study aimed to investigate the mathematical organization present in a didactic book of Mathematics of the 6th year of elementary school on the concept of remarkable quadrilaterals. The theoretical reference is supported, above all, in the Didactic Anthropological Theory. The methodology presents a qualitative approach with the character of documentary analysis. The data of this investigation indicate that the type of task most present in the work is TM – To determine the measure of a geometric magnitude associated with a notable quadrilateral. The applied techniques focus essentially on visualization and the use of geometric representations. The technological-theoretical block is based on the types and properties of angles, the definitions and properties of the quadrilaterals and the fundamental operations. Therefore, Geometry, Magnitude and Measures and Arithmetic support the constitution of this block.
