This work is the result of a research carried out with students in the early years of basic education in public schools (Abaetetuba and Belém-Mosqueiro in Pará). The text is based on authors who discuss the conception of childhood, development and learning. The research was performed by the Study and Research Group on Education, Childhood and Philosophy from UFPA in partnership with the SEDUC at School Unit – USE 17. During the process of information collection, 35 students were heard in the heaviest period of the COVID 19 Pandemic still in 2020. The data revealed how the children are feeling, their fears and prospects for the future. They also demonstrate that 40% of the children are afraid of being infected by COVID and a little over 31% feared the death of their parents. The research, therefore, reveals that there were uncertainties about the future. Thus, 51% of the research participants sorrow over the isolation and the lack of opportunities for social interaction, produced by social distancing.
