Resumo: This research aims to analyze aspects of the academic trajectories of indigenous women in the course of Graduation in Intercultural Basic Education at the Federal University of Rondônia (UNIR), campus of Ji-Paraná. The specific objectives consist of: a) describing how indigenous students evaluate their schooling trajectories; b) exploring the academic experiences of indigenous women who are starting the course. The study is structured from the theoretical orientations of scholars in the fields of coloniality/decoloniality and critical interculturality. The methodology relies on documental, bibliographical and narrative research. A narrative interview was conducted with three students and a professor of the course. Among the challenges identified is the issue of accommodating indigenous mothers and children within the university, a challenge faced by the Department of Intercultural Education (DEINTER). Through the narratives, it became evident that there is an urgent need for a space to address the specific needs of indigenous women who are both students and mothers. It was also noted that, due to a lack of options, mothers often leave their children in the village under the care of relatives, resulting in an unusual separation not experienced in indigenous ancestral practices. Another ongoing challenge is ensuring the retention of these students within the university space.

O desafio encontrado ainda é a permanência dessas/es estudantes no espaço universitário.Universidade Federal do Oeste do Pará/UFOPA2023-11-29info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://portaldeperiodicos.ufopa.edu.br/index.php/revistaexitus/article/view/242610.24065/re.v13i1.2426Revista Exitus; v. 13 (2023); e0230782237-9460reponame:Revista Exitusinstname:Universidade Federal do Oeste do Pará (UFOPA)instacron:UFOPAporhttps://portaldeperiodicos.ufopa.edu.br/index.php/revistaexitus/article/view/2426/1497Copyright (c) 2023 Shyrley de Almeida Alves, Maria Ivonete Barbosa Tamborilhttps://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessAlves, Shyrley de AlmeidaTamboril, Maria Ivonete Barbosa2023-09-28T18:31:04Zoai:ojs.pkp.sfu.ca:article/2426Revistahttps://portaldeperiodicos.ufopa.edu.br/index.php/revistaexitus/indexPUBhttps://portaldeperiodicos.ufopa.edu.br/index.php/revistaexitus/oai||revistaicedufopa@gmail.com2237-94602236-2983opendoar:2024-01-24T12:48:35.333374Revista Exitus - Universidade Federal do Oeste do Pará (UFOPA)false
