SCHOOL INCLUSION OF STUDENTS WITH LOW VISION: a study of the teaching strategies of two teachers in Floriano – PI

Resumo: Visual impairment in school-age children is a reality in schools. In view of this, it is necessary to take ownership of practices and knowledge that help students with such impairment in their learning process. The study was based on the following guiding question: what are the teaching strategies for the inclusion of a student with low vision at the Francisco José Dutra municipal school in Floriano - PI?  The aim of this research is to investigate the teaching strategies for the inclusion of a student with low vision in elementary school. In order to achieve the prescribed objectives, a qualitative, descriptive and exploratory study was carried out, using a questionnaire made up of eight open questions for data collection, with two elementary school teachers from the aforementioned school as participants. Among the results obtained were the lack of continuing training for teachers in regular education classes to work with these students and their superficial understanding of inclusion. The analysis of the participants' responses reveals the complexity of the inclusion process, the consolidation of which will only occur essentially through the construction of a self-awareness that educators need to have in order to recognize the importance assumed by them so that the inclusive school is a paradigm in the education of individuals.

Frente a esto, es necesario apropiarse de prácticas y conocimientos que ayuden a los alumnos con tal deficiencia en su proceso de aprendizaje. El estudio se basó en la siguiente pregunta orientadora: ¿cuáles son las estrategias pedagógicas para la inclusión de un alumno con baja visión en la escuela municipal Francisco José Dutra de Floriano - PI?  El objetivo de esta investigación es investigar las estrategias de enseñanza para la inclusión de un alumno con baja visión en la escuela primaria. Para alcanzar los objetivos previstos, se realizó un estudio cualitativo, descriptivo y exploratorio, utilizando un cuestionario compuesto por ocho preguntas abiertas para la recogida de datos, en el que participaron dos profesores de primaria de la escuela. Entre los resultados obtenidos destacan la falta de formación continua de los profesores de las clases ordinarias para trabajar con estos alumnos y su superficial comprensión de la inclusión. El análisis de las respuestas de los participantes revela la complejidad del proceso de inclusión, cuya consolidación sólo se producirá fundamentalmente a través de la construcción de una autoconciencia que los educadores deben tener para reconocer la importancia que asumen para que la escuela inclusiva se convierta en un paradigma en la educación de las personas.A deficiência visual em crianças que se encontram em processo de escolarização é uma realidade existente nas escolas. Diante disso, faz-se necessário nos apropriarmos de práticas e conhecimentos que auxiliem os educandos com tal comprometimento em seu processo de aprendizagem. O estudo foi seguido a partir da seguinte pergunta norteadora: quais são as estratégias didáticas voltadas para a inclusão escolar de uma aluna com baixa visão na escola municipal Francisco José Dutra em Floriano – PI?  A presente pesquisa tem como objetivo investigar as estratégias didáticas voltadas para a inclusão de uma aluna com baixa visão do ensino fundamental. Para alcançar os objetivos prescritos foi realizado um estudo de abordagem qualitativa, do tipo descritiva e exploratória, valendo-se da aplicação de um questionário composto de oito questões abertas para a coleta de dados, tendo como participantes duas professoras do ensino fundamental da referida escola. Dentre os resultados obtidos destacam-se a falta de formação continuada dos professores das classes de ensino regular para atuar com esse alunado e o superficial entendimento acerca da inclusão.
