Resumo: The school as a space for learning, social experiences and multiplicity plays a significant role in the formation of people, and also in social formation. The objective of this work is to reflect on the importance of the teaching role in the process of inclusion of students with visual impairment in the school context and in the teaching and learning process. For this, a bibliographic research was carried out. As a bibliographical research, we sought a critical analysis of the literature produced in the area, namely: De Masi (2000), Gil (2000) Masini (1993) and Ribeiro (2001). In the light of the authors, with regard to the education and inclusion of visually impaired students, it is concluded that the figure of the teacher is fundamental in the inclusive process of the visually impaired. For the educator, when sensitive to the inclusion process, knowing the need of his student, seeks adjustments to the curricular activities, as well as the adapted didactic materials necessary to provide equal learning, making the school an inclusive educational environment.

El objetivo de este trabajo consiste en reflexionar sobre la importancia del papel docente en el proceso de inclusión de alumnos con discapacidad visual en el ámbito escolar y en el proceso de enseñanza y aprendizaje. Para ello se realizó una investigación de cuño bibliográfico. En el caso de la investigación bibliográfica, se buscó un análisis crítico de la literatura producida en el área, a saber: De Masi (2000), Gil (2000) Masini (1993) y Ribeiro (2001). A la luz de los autores, en lo que se refiere a la educación e inclusión de discentes con deficiencia visual, se concluye que la figura del profesor es fundamental en el proceso inclusivo del deficiente visual. El educador, cuando sensible al proceso de inclusión, al conocer la necesidad de su alumno, busca adecuaciones de las actividades curriculares, así como los materiales didácticos adaptados necesarios para oportunizar igualdad de aprendizaje, haciendo de la escuela un ambiente educativo inclusivo.A escola como espaço de aprendizado, de vivências sociais e multiplicidade tem papel significativo na formação das pessoas, e também na formação social. O objetivo deste trabalho consiste em refletir sobre a importância do papel docente no processo de inclusão de alunos com deficiência visual no âmbito escolar e no processo de ensino e aprendizagem. Para tanto foi realizada uma pesquisa de cunho bibliográfica. Sendo uma pesquisa bibliográfica, buscou-se uma análise crítica da literatura produzida na área, a saber: De Masi (2000), Gil (2000) Masini (1993) e Ribeiro (2001). À luz dos autores, no que se refere a educação e inclusão de discentes com deficiência visual, conclui-se que a figura do professor é fundamental no processo inclusivo do deficiente visual.
