ETHICS IN TEACHING: literature review

Resumo: | The article presents an analysis of 58 works by Brazilian authors that address ethics in teaching (1992-2022). The papers were classified into the following categories: a) Teaching ethics and training for teaching; b) Teaching ethics and socio-educational practices; c) Code or commitments of teaching ethics; d) Teaching ethics and curricular issues; and e) Teaching ethics and dilemmas. It was concluded that: a) the topic ethics in teaching in Brazil has been little addressed in initial and continuing education; b) the dilemmas faced by teachers are still unknown; c) there are several demands for training institutions in relation to ethical education of the future; and d) the concepts of integrity and research integrity contribute to the analysis of the teaching ethics. From authors who discuss ethical-onto-epistemology, the article argues that ethics in teaching is one of the structuring elements of the training process and needed to be included in the inicial and continuos teacher education. |

Se concluyó que: a) el tema de la ética en la enseñanza en Brasil ha sido poco abordado en la educación inicial y continua; b) aún se desconocen los dilemas que enfrentan los docentes; c) existen diversas demandas de las instituciones formadoras en cuanto a la formación ética de los futuros docentes; y d) los conceptos de integridad e integridad académica contribuyen al análisis de la ética docente. Con base en autores que discuten sobre ética-ontoepistemología, el artículo argumenta que la ética en la enseñanza es uno de los elementos estructurantes de la enseñanza y necesita ser considerada en la educación inicial y continua.O artigo apresenta uma análise de 58 trabalhos de autores brasileiros que abordam a ética na docência (1992-2022). Os trabalhos foram classificados nas seguintes categorias: a) Ética docente e formação para a docência; b) Ética docente e práticas socioeducativas; c) Código ou compromissos da ética docente; d) Ética docente e questões curriculares; e e) Ética docente e dilemas. Concluiu-se que: a) a temática da ética na docência no Brasil tem sido pouco abordada na formação inicial e continuada; b) os dilemas enfrentados pelos docentes ainda são desconhecidos; c) há diversas demandas para as instituições formadoras no que se refere à formação ética dos futuros docentes; e d) os conceitos de integridade e integridade acadêmica contribuem para a análise da ética docente.
