Núcleo de Geotecnia, Escola de Minas, Universidade Federal de Ouro Preto.A pesquisa foi desenvolvida com o objetivo de estabelecer uma análise comparativa de desempenho entre três tipos de misturas asfálticas, de graduação aberta, empregando-se os ligantes convencionais, os modificados por copolímeros SBS e os modificados por borracha moída de pneus, utilizando-se agregados graduados em mesma faixa granulométrica para todas as dosagens. Foram realizados os ensaios da metodologia Marshall, módulo de resiliência, resistência à tração por compressão diametral, deformação permanente (creep estático), permeabilidade a carga constante e desgaste Cântabro, possibilitando a avaliação de desempenho quanto à capacidade estrutural, à deformação permanente, à permeabilidade e resistência à desagregação. Os resultados indicaram que a mistura com BMP necessitou de maior quantidade de ligante que as demais. Os valores mais elevados de estabilidade Marshall, módulo de resiliência e resistência à tração por compressão diametral, foram obtidos da mistura com CAP 50/70. Todas as misturas apresentaram valores de resistência ao desgaste Cântabro acima do limite recomendado para alguns tipos de misturas abertas, bem como baixa permeabilidade, propensas a uma drenagem apenas razoável caso a camada compactada, em campo, apresente as mesmas características das obtidas em laboratório.This research Project was conceived with the objective of comparing the performance of three open graded asphalt mixes, all three with the same aggregate gradation for all dosages, on which three different asphaltic binders were used; one conventional binder, one with the addition of co-polymers SBS and another one modified by the addition of ground rubber from old used tires. The molded mix samples were submitted to Marshall test method, resilient modulus determination, determination of indirect tensile strength, permanent deformation (static creep), permeability under constant load and Cantabro test method which allowed the evaluation of the mixes’ performance regarding structural capacity, permanent deformation, permeability and resistance to raveling. The test results showed that asphalt rubber binder demanded a greater binder content than all the other mixes. The greater Marshall stability values, resilient modulus values and indirect tensile strength values were achieved with CAP 50/70.
