Resumo: | This study deals with a sociolinguistic investigation about the linguistic beliefs and attitudes of the Cameta speakers before the ideophones "bacu", "boroca", "gito", "hem hem", "malamá", "teteé" and "xibante" of the linguistic variety spoken in Cametá-PA. The research aims to analyze whether there is a positive or negative attitude towards such ideophones, in order to understand the role of the variables sex, age, education and origin in the observable attitudes, from the cognitive, conative and affective components that structure the linguistic attitude. It is based on Cardoso (2015), Lambert and Lambert (1972), Costa (2017) and Melo (2017). The data collection instrument for analysis contains controlled speech data obtained using the matched guise technique or “false pairs”, by Lambert and Lambert (1972). The data collected in the research revealed a greater occurrence of positive linguistic attitudes of the informants towards the ideophones regarding the way of speaking Cameta and their preferences for the use of the ideophones. |
