Resumo: The main objective of this work is to analyze the documentary aspect of the chronicles of the Paraibano journalist Gonzaga Rodrigues, on the city of João Pessoa, investigating, through the texts present in the book Notas do meu Lugar (1978), the construction of historical and collective memory and the imaginary of the capital, using for this elaboration, a comparative analysis with texts of other genres, such as article and newspaper news of the time, which deal with the evolution and changes in the city of João Pessoa, contextualizing and situating the chronicles in time and space. To accomplish the work, it was also necessary to research the chronicle as a hybrid genre, which permeates journalism, literature and history. The research was guided by the perspective of authors such as Melo (1985), Pereira (1994), Galvani (2008), Sá (1985) and Bender and Laurito (1993).

Pour mener à bien ce travail, il était également nécessaire d’étudier la chronique en tant que genre hybride, qui s’étend au journalisme, à la littérature et à l’histoire. Para a realização do trabalho, foi necessário também pesquisar a crônica enquanto um gênero híbrido, que permeia o jornalismo, a literatura e a história.
