Maracatus rurais do Recife: entre a religiosidade popular e o espetáculo.

The object of this study is the dialogic relationship Maracatu Rural Cruise Forte with spectacle promoted by the tourism and entertainment industries in Recife / PE, where this group of popular culture operates. Maracatu is a manifestation of popular culture typical of the state of Pernambuco. It's called the "game", however is both a religious expression african-Indian-Brazilian rhythm and dance that inspire public presentations on holidays. Reference of the popular culture of Pernambuco, and constantly asked by media outlets, the Maracatu Rural arises between the nineteenth and twentieth centuries in the North Forest area of Pernambuco, is reinvented in relation to its firsts manifestations and brings elements of rural life. This process occurred with the crisis in the sugar industry of the decade of the 30th century causing individuals to move and recreate the event in Recife where they live. This baggage, religious memory goes through several processes of redefinition and resistance, which are acquired new forms of interpretation and worship to the sacred, especially after the interference tentative from tourists spectacles . The objective of this research was: to analyze the dialogue form of coexistence between religiosity and popular cultural spectacle in Maracatu Cruzeiro do Forte in Recife/PE. This was a qualitative research, documentary and ethnographic, focus group and especially in the main leaders of this Maracatu. It was found that even with the influences of organized spectacle of the culture industry that operates in the Carnival period in Recife / PE, this Maracatu preserves and respects their religious-symbolic essences that make up its structure material, spiritual and immaterial. The authors and theorists who inspired this research were: Prandi (1999), Eliade (2001), Guy Debord (1997), Canclini (1983, 2006 and 2008), Featherstone (1995), Lipovetsky (1991), Durand (1988), Geertz (1989), Bittencourt Filho (2003), Berger (2004), Brandão (1989), Ferretti (1995 and 2007), among many others.
