Resumo: The use of construction and demolition waste (RCD) as raw material for the manufacture of other materials,in order to minimize the impacts caused by its deposition, has been a sustainable alternative within theconstruction sector. In this sense, this study aimed to verify the feasibility of using concrete blocksmanufactured with the incorporation of RCD, in total substitution to natural aggregates, for the purpose ofsealing buildings. For this, units of blocks of dimensions 19 x 19 x 39 cm were produced, according to theprocedures of manual molding and compacting on a vibrating table, which were subjected to tests todetermine water absorption and resistance to axial compression, to 3, 7 and 28 days, according to technicalregulations. The results obtained showed that the blocks manufactured mechanically obtained betterperformance in comparison to the manual process, falling into Class D, according to the classification of NBR6136 (ABNT, 2016), as concrete blocks for use in non-structural masonry with resistance greater than 2.0MPa. It was concluded that the RCD blocks are presented as an alternative of production and sustainableuse, when manufactured by the mechanical process.
