Resumo: This article aims to analyze the participation of indigenous groups from the villages of Barreiros and Cimbres in Pernambuco, and Jacuípe in Alagoas on the context of the political and armed conflict called Confederação do Equador (1824). In different ways, the Indians villagers are actively involved in discussions on political projects from their own interests and expectations, which were related to the defense of the lands of the villages and the management of these spaces. Relating theirs more specific questions to a revolt of major proportions, the indigenous groups built their crucial role in the formation process of the Brazilian state in the XIX century.

De maneiras diferentes, os indígenas das citadas aldeias se envolveram ativamente nos debates sobre projetos políticos a partir de seus próprios interesses e expectativas, que se relacionavam à defesa das terras das aldeias e à administração desses espaços.
