A PRESENÇA DO BLASTOCERUS DICHOTOMUS NAS PINTURAS RUPESTRES DO PARQUE NACIONAL SERRA DA CAPIVARA E SEUS INDICADORES PALEOAMBIENTAIS

Resumo: No Parque Nacional Serra da Capivara – PNSC existe uma concentração muito grande de sítios arqueológicos que fornecem informações diversificadas sobre as primeiras ocupações humanas na América, pois retratam muitas características de sua existência nos diferentes ecossistemas da região. É possível reconhecer nas pinturas – a partir das variadas representações rupestres zoomorfas e suas prováveis interpretações – espécies inexistentes hoje na região e outras totalmente extintas; algumas são tão bem elaboradas, que é possível reconhecer o sexo do animal gravado, por meio da presença de galhadas e outras características determinantes de gênero nas espécies. A partir da identificação e do estudo aprofundado da fauna representada nas pinturas rupestres do Parque Nacional Serra da Capivara, e das informações auferidas na literatura, busca-se reconstruir as prováveis condições ambientais do período em que elas foram feitas, tornando-se, assim, um confiável indicador paleoambiental.Abstract: In Serra da Capivara National Park there is a wide range of archeological sites which provides diverse information about the first human settlements in America since it holds many characteristics from their existence in different ecosystems of the region. It is possible to identify in the paintings – from the various rock zoomorphic representations and their likely interpretations – species absent today in the region and others completely extinct; some are so well done that it is possible to identify the gender of the printed animal through antlers and other species gender determinant characteristics. Based on the identification and a deep study of the fauna pictured in the cave paintings of the Serra do Capivara National Park as well as on the information gathered from the literature, the aim is to rebuild the probable environmental conditions from the period when the paintings were made, thus becoming a reliable paleoenvironmental reference.
