Resumo: | To examine the funeral ritual of wake and the apparatus of funeral decorations in the Bagé city means telling its history. Under the perspective of the material and visual culture, we search to understand its daily attitudes, its transformations, religious and moral values, as well as many others, what enables us to reveal important aspects of the memory of this society. This practice tells us the behavior and adornments of this society front of death in the twentieth century. |

Sob a perspectiva da cultura material e visual, buscaremos compreender as atitudes cotidianas dessa sociedade, suas transformações, seus valores religiosos, morais, como tantos outros, revelando importantes aspectos de sua memória. Esta prática nos relata a forma desta sociedade se portar e se enfeitar diante da morte nos primórdios do século XX.
