Resumo: | The use and management of natural resources by prehistorichuman groups resulted in a range of materials and scenarios that revealpartly their daily lives. This article aims to present the results of studiesdeveloped in the project "Between Rivers Archaeology: From theUrussanga to Mampituba", by the Universidade do Extremo SulCatarinense Archaeology and Territory Integrate Management researchGroup, as a way to understand how would have been the interactionbetween the pre-historic groups lived on their settlement spaces. Thestudy area covers a polygon of 4800 km2 (80 x 60 km), located in southernof Santa Catarina between the rivers Urussanga and Mampituba andbetween the Atlantic Ocean and the eastern slopes plateau. The data wereobtained from literature sources, the database CNSA/IPHAN and fieldresearch. We recorded 116 prehistoric sites of which 44 are associatedwith hunter-gatherer groups, 16 Sambaqui groups, 52 ceramic pottersgroups, tree rock art sites and a rock shelter associated with burial. Theresults allowed us to infer, from a regional perspective, what prehistoricgroups occupied the region, as well as its cultural adaptations to palelandscapes, their origins, migrations and the interactions between them. |
