Resumo: As far as cultural contacts between populations are concerned, the diversity of configurations that can be found in Canada fosters reflections on concepts such as multiculturalism, interculturalism and transculturalism. This is possible in spite of historical trends, such as the systematic use of Eurocentric worldviews, traditionally based on binary paradigms, and the scarcity of Aboriginal voices in the public sphere. But when the latter are considered, rich debates lead to original ("Canadian") solutions that may also respond to situations that occur in other parts of the world. Through a selection of Canadian texts, we aim to present approaches that seem particularly relevant. Highway (2003) proposes an analysis of some cultural paradigms based on mythology, Sioui (2002) rewrites the very first contacts from the point of view of the Aboriginals, while Béchard and Fontaine (2016) engage in an epistolary dialogue dealing with racism. New and more fluid paradigms (IMBERT; BERND, 2015) emerging from Canada's Aboriginal Dialogues transculturels entre Autochtones et Allochtones au Canada: vers de nouveaux paradigmes cultures are bringing to the forefront worldviews that value mutual respect among the communities and a strong relationship with Mother Earth.

Abecan2017-08-23info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://periodicos.ufpel.edu.br/index.php/interfaces/article/view/1093210.15210/interfaces.v17i2.10932Interfaces Brasil/Canadá; v. 17 n. 2 (2017): De 1867 a 2017: o Canadá e seus processos de contínua reinvenção; 98 - 115Interfaces, Brazil/Canada, Brazilian Journal of Canadian Studies; Vol. 17 No. 2 (2017): From 1867 to 2017: Canada and its processes of continuous reinvention; 98 - 115Interfaces, Brasil/Canadá; Vol. 17 Núm. 2 (2017): De 1867 a 2017: o Canadá e seus processos de contínua reinvenção; 98 - 115Interfaces, Brésil/Canadá; Vol. 17 No 2 (2017): De 1867 à 2017 : le Canada et ses processus de réinvention continue; 98 - 1151984-56771519-099410.15210/interfaces.v17i2reponame:Interfaces Brasil/Canadá (Online)instname:Associação Brasileira de Estudos Canadenses (ABECAN)instacron:UFPELfrahttps://periodicos.ufpel.edu.br/index.php/interfaces/article/view/10932/7581Copyright (c) 2017 Interfaces Brasil/Canadáinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessRassier, Luciana WregeBrunelière, Jean-François2019-10-15T00:43:36Zoai:ojs.ufpel:article/10932Revistahttps://periodicos.ufpel.edu.br/index.php/interfaces/indexPUBhttps://periodicos.ufpel.edu.br/index.php/interfaces/oai||interfaces.contato@outlook.com|| gunter@terra.com.br1984-56771519-0994opendoar:2019-10-15T00:43:36Interfaces Brasil/Canadá (Online) - Associação Brasileira de Estudos Canadenses (ABECAN)false
