Por este fato, trazemos à tona um crime de bigamia feminina ocorrido em Olinda, na Capitania de Pernambuco, no final do século XVI. A presente pesquisa se debruçou diante de um processo inquisitorial, analisando o caso de Marta Fernandes, denunciada à Santa Inquisição durante visitação oficial a estas partes do Brasil. Por sua relevância à historiografia, especialmente em face da figura feminina ter sido durante muito tempo “silenciada” nas produções historiográficas, objetivou-se analisar este delito de bigamia dentro do recorte temporal estabelecido, que se dá entre 1593-1595, período de tempo que marca o início e o fim do trâmite processual da acusada. Examinando como o bígamo era percebido pelas autoridades eclesiais, as repercussões sociais e morais que causavam no dia a dia da colônia. O processo analisado, enquanto principal fonte histórica desta pesquisa, encontra-se disponível para acesso no site oficial do Arquivo Nacional da Torre do Tombo, sob o número 10.745. Utilizou-se a micro-história enquanto recurso metodológico para compreendermos os detalhes e as minúcias da fonte em questão, que nos permitiu visualizar como estas normas, códigos e leis, contribuíram para que Marta Fernandes, uma mulher parda, ex-escrava, forçada a um matrimônio arquitetado por seu ex-proprietário e amante, a fugir de sua ilha natal e a contrair novo matrimônio em terras ultramarinas, tendo seu primeiro cônjuge ainda vivo. Como embasamento teórico, utilizamos obras de Certeau (2005); Darton (1986); Fernandes (1995); Figueiredo (2004); Geertz (1989); Ginzburg (2003); Levi (2016); Novinsky (1996); Perrot (2007); Revel (1998); Siqueira (1978); Vainfas (1997); entre outros. Os resultados obtidos a partir da análise do processo inquisitorial desvela a perseguição e condenação ao crime de bigamia pelo Tribunal do Santo Ofício, ao mesmo tempo que revela uma mulher disposta a sobreviver em uma sociedade altamente hierarquizada; que não se apresenta como subversiva, e que diante de sua trajetória de vida, não se demonstrou apática à realidade colonial e masculina vigente do quinhentos.Inquisition and bigamy in colonial Brazil are intensely debated themes, but never exhausted. For this fact, we bring to light a crime of female bigamy that occurred in Olinda, inthe Captaincy of Pernambuco, at the end of the 16th century. Because of its relevance to historiography, especially in the face of the female figure having been "silenced" for a long time in historiographic productions, the objective was to analyze this crime of bigamy within the established time frame, which takes place between 1593-1595, a period of time that marks the beginning and end of the procedural process of the accused. Examining how the bigamist was perceived by the ecclesial authorities, the social and moral repercussions they caused in theday- to-day life of the colony. The process analyzed, as the main historical source of this research, is available for access on the official website of the National Archives of Torre do Tombo, under the number 10.745. Microhistory was used as a methodological resource to understand the details and details of the source in question, which allowed us to visualize howthese norms, codes and laws contributed to Marta Fernandes, a brown woman, former slave, forced into a marriage architected by her former owner and lover, to flee her home island and to enter into new marriage in overseas lands, having her first spouse still alive. As a theoreticalbasis, we used works by Certeau (2005); Darton (1986); Fernandes (1995); Figueiredo (2004); Geertz (1989); Ginzburg (2003); Levi (2016); Novinsky (1996); Perrot (2007); Revel (1998); Siqueira (1978); Vainfas (1997); among others. The results obtained from the analysis of the inquisitorial process reveal the persecution and condemnation of the crime of bigamy by the Court of the Holy Office, while revealing a woman willing to survive in a highly hierarchical society;
