O texto está dividido em quatro partes: no primeiro capítulo, Teoria da Decisão e as Origens de Davison, apresentamos o início da carreira de Davidson como psicólogo experimental e suas conexões com matemáticos e estatísticos que produziram a Teoria da Decisão em Stanford. Estabelecemos as conexões e pressupostos comuns que Davidson procura levar até a sua Teoria da Ação, dentro dos limites de uma Teoria da Ação. No segundo capítulo, Teoria da Ação de Davidson, exibimos sua Teoria da ação e procuramos mostrar através das passagens textuais, principalmente em How is Possible Waekness of Will? e Intending as proximidades com os conceitos da Teoria da Decisão, em particular o processo de raciocínio prático ligado ao conceito de Desejabilidade. No terceiro capítulo, Racionalidade Limitada, tratamos sobre a mudança de paradigma acerca da racionalidade e o contraponto trazido por Herbert Simon e as limitações estruturais do ser humano, acompanhado dos trabalhos desenvolvidos por psicólogos experimentais que trouxeram novas visões acerca da racionalidade limitada. No quarto capítulo, Bratman e o Comprometimento, trazemos as ideias de Bratman sobre o conceito de Intenção, seguindo os passos de Davidson procurando dar a intenção um tratamento ao mesmo nível de crenças e desejos, articulando a noção de agência planejada partindo da perspectiva da racionalidade limitada. No último capítulo, concluímos o texto defendendo a tese.This thesis aims to demonstrate that the differences between the thinking of Donald Davison and Michael Bratman are rooted in the conceptions of rationality that each one of them is committed to. The text is divided into five parts; In the first chapter, Decision Theory and Davison's Origins, we present Davidson's early career as an experimental psychologist and his connections to the mathematicians and statisticians who produced Decision Theory in Stanford. We established the common connections and assumptions that Davidson seeks to bring to his Action Theory, inside the limits of an Action Theory. In the second chapter, Davidson's Theory of Action, we exhibited his Theory of Action and sought to show through the textual passages, especially in How is Possible Waekness of Will? and Intending the proximity to the concepts of Decision Theory, in particular the process of practical reasoning linked to the concept of Desirability. In the third chapter, Bounded Rationality, we deal with the paradigm shift about rationality and counterpoint brought by Herbert Simon and the structural limitations of the human being, accompanied by the work developed by experimental psychologists who brought new insights into bounded rationality. In the fourth chapter, Bratman and Commitment, we bring Bratman's ideas about the concept of Intent, following in Davidson's footsteps by trying to give the treatment the same level of beliefs and desires, articulating the notion of planned agency from the perspective of bounded rationality.
