Com o objetivo de descrever as alterações orais e craniofaciais presentes nas crianças portadoras de SCZ, foi realizado um estudo transversal, utilizando-se um questionário estruturado, dados do prontuário médico e avaliação clínica em crianças portadoras de SCZ. Foram avaliadas 32 crianças, sendo a maioria do sexo masculino (56,3%), com idade variando entre 13 e 25 meses e média da idade de 22 meses (DP=2,71). Foi observado ainda que a maioria dos pacientes (59,4%) apresenta uma baixa renda familiar, correspondente a um salário mínimo, e a maioria das mães possuem baixa escolaridade. Foi observado uma variedade de alterações neurológicas, contudo, todas as crianças apresentaram calcificações intracranianas e média de perímetro cefálico de 29,43 (DP=1,42). Quanto às dificuldades funcionais, 12 crianças (37,5%) não conseguiram realizar o aleitamento materno e 24 crianças (75%) apresentavam disfagia, não sendo estatisticamente significante a relação da disfagia com o aleitamento (p=0,67). Foi observado palato ogival em 14 crianças (43,7%) e sua correlação com a disfagia também não foi estatisticamente significante (p=0,09). Em relação às alterações orais, em 15 crianças (46,9%) foi observado um retardo na cronologia de erupção, onde 7 crianças (21,9%) não apresentaram erupção do incisivo lateral superior esquerdo (p=0,0002) e direito (p=0,002) até o momento da análise. Adicionalmente, foram identificadas 03 crianças com pigmentação dentária amarelada nos dentes erupcionados após o início do uso de fenobarbital. Foi encontrada hipoplasia de esmalte em 9 crianças (28,1%) e apenas uma outra criança foi diagnosticada com anquiloglossia. Baseado nos achados do presente estudo é possível concluir que a SCZ que hipoplasia de esmalte, modificação na anatomia do palato, retardo na cronologia de erupção dentária e anquiloglossia, são encontrados em crianças acometidas por SCZ.CAPESA Zika congenital syndrome (SCZ) is a rare, seasonal, congenital disease characterized by the patient's neurological and motor impairment, and may appear in the oral cavity. Aiming to describe the oral and craniofacial present in children with SCZ, conducted in a cross - sectional study, using a structured questionnaire, medical record data and clinical evaluation in children with SCZ. A total of 32 children were evaluated, the majority being male (56.3%), aged between 13 and 25 months and mean age at 22 months (SD = 2.71). It was also observed that the majority of patients (59.4%) had a low family income, corresponding to a minimum wage, and the majority of mothers had low educational level. A variety of neurological abnormalities were observed; however, all children had intracranial calcifications and a mean cephalic perimeter of 29.43 (SD = 1.42). As for functional difficulties, 12 children (37.5%) were unable to breastfeed and 24 (75%) had dysphagia, and dysphagia and lactation were not statistically significant (p = 0.67). The oval palate was observed in 14 children (43.7%) and their correlation with dysphagia was also not statistically significant (p = 0.09). In relation to oral implantation, a delay in the chronology of eruption was observed in 15 children (46.9%), where 7 children (21.9%) did not present eruption of the left upper lateral incisor (p = 0.0002) and right(p = 0.002) until the moment of analysis. Additionally, 03 children with yellowish dental pigmentation were identified in erupted teeth after the onset of phenobarbital use. Enamel hypoplasia was found in 9 children (28.1%) and only one other childdiagnosed with ankyloglossia.
