A Formação Romualdo (Aptiano-Albiano) da Bacia do Araripe apresenta abundantes e diversos grupos de invertebrados que juntos podem contribuir para melhor compreensão do seu ambiente deposicional, uma vez que os aspectos paleoambientais e paleogeográficos da unidade ainda são discutidos. Como resultado, foram analisadas 4 seções estratigráficas da Formação Romualdo, expostas em mineradoras de gi psita (Formação Ipubi), nos municípios de Araripina e Ipubi, PE, porção oeste da Bacia do Araripe. Foram identificados 13 táxons (Decapoda: Paleomattea deliciosa, Kellnerius jamacaruensis; Spinicaudata: Cyzicus brauni, Cyzicus pricei, Martinestheria codoensis, Estheriina costai; Gastropoda: Tylostoma ranchariensis, Paraglaugonia sp., Pseudomesalia (‘Pseudomesalia’) santanensis, cassiopídeos, ceritídeos e naticídeos indeterminados; e Bivalvia: Brachidontes araripensis). Com base na diversidade e abundância de táxons nas camadas, os espécimes foram agrupados com o software PAST v 4.04 em três associações de fósseis: Paleomattea deliciosa, Cizycus sp. e Cassiopidae, e três paleoambientes distintos: transicional, incursão marinha I e II. Enquanto as associações Cyzicus sp. e Paleomattea deliciosa evidenciam ambientes de baixa energia, a associação Cassiopidae implica em soterramento tempestítico. Os resultados apontam para influência do Mar Tétis, possivelmente através da Bacia do Parnaíba. Além disso, foi realizada uma extensa revisão bibliográfica acerca da diversidade dos invertebrados da Formação Romualdo, sua distribuição e paleoecologia. Assim, foram compilados dados paleoecológicos e paleogeográficos referentes à 41 táxons de invertebrados, evidenciando a carência de dados paleoecológicos e sistemático de alguns táxons, além necessidade de revisão taxonômica dos Spinicaudata da Formação Romualdo. Por fim, mostrou-se a predominância de táxons de águas marinhas e salobras e de táxons com caráter tetiano.CAPESFossil invertebrates are of great importance for understanding past phenomena, especially with regard to changes in the paleoenvironment. The Romualdo Formation (Aptian-Albian) of the Araripe Basin has abundant and diverse groups of invertebrates that together can contribute to a better understanding of its depositional environment, since the paleoenvironmental and paleogeographical aspects of the unit are still debated. As a result, 4 stratigraphic sections exposed in gypsum mining companies (Ipubi Formation), in the municipalities of Araripina and Ipubi, PE, western portion of the Araripe Basin, were analyzed and 13 taxa were identified (Decapoda: Paleomattea deliciosa, Kellnerius jamacaruensis; Spinicaudata: Cyzicus brauni, Cyzicus pricei, Martinestheria codoensis, Estheriina costai; Gastropoda: Tylostoma ranchariensis, Paraglaugonia sp., Pseudomesalia ('Pseudomesalia') santanensis, cassiopids, ceritids and indeterminate naticids; and Bivalvia: Brachidontes araripensis). These were grouped into three associations: Paleomattea deliciosa, Cizycus sp. and Cassiopidae, and three distinct paleoenvironments: transitional, marine incursion I and II. While Cyzicus sp. and Paleomattea deliciosa evidence low-energy environments, the Cassiopidae association implies stormy deposition. The results point to Tethys Sea influence, through the Parnaíba. In addition, an extensive literature review was carried out on the diversity of invertebrates from the Romualdo Formation, their distribution and paleoecology. Thus, paleoecological and paleogeographical data referring to 41 taxa of invertebrates were compiled, evidencing the lack of data in each area of knowledge and the need for a taxonomic revision of the Spinicaudata of the Romualdo Formation.
