THE HISTORICAL PROCESS OF HUMAN RIGHTS FOR WOMEN IN BRAZIL

This article has as its research theme the human rights of women with an emphasis on the rights of Brazilian women. Human rights are the result of a historical construction and advances in terms of legislation related to gender issues are already significant, which motivated interest in research. The study aims to analyze women's rights in national and international documents and, for this purpose, a qualitative research was carried out, through analysis in declarations, conventions, conferences, plans, statutes, laws and policies public. The study is based on the theoretical arguments of Michel Foucault (1988), based on gender studies by Judith Butler (2015), and on the contributions of Simone de Beauvoir (1980). From the study, 33 documents were found, dated between 1789 and 2015, which show that the fight for women's rights was intense in the legal apparatus. However, there is much to be achieved in terms of respect for the dignity of the human person, given the intersectional complexity, considering race, nationality, ethnicity, gender, social class, region, culture, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, generation and disability. The question is the non-materiality of many human rights policies, highlighting the need to overcome stigma, violence, discrimination, inequality, conditions of social exclusion and vulnerabilities that mark the daily lives of thousands of Brazilian women.
