EDUCATION AND DIGITAL INEQUALITIES DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC: AN ANALYSIS OF SCIENTIFIC PRODUCTION

Resumo: This article aims to analyze the scientific production about digital inequalities and their repercussion on access to education, in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic. This is a bibliographic review of studies indexed in the following databases: Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO) and CAPES Periodical Portal, in the period 2020 and 2021. The study sample comprises seven articles, of which, through Content Analysis according to Bardin's theory (2011), six categories were built. The research shows that in the period of the Covid-19 pandemic, digital inequalities limited access to education as a social right, especially for poorer students, and indicates the need for more efficient public policies to solve the problem of digital exclusion, which is a consequence of social inequalities. It is necessary that free and universal digital connection be treated as a citizen right.

Se trata de una revisión bibliográfica de los trabajos indexados en las bases de datos: Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO) y Portal de Periódicos CAPES, en el período 2020 y 2021. La muestra del estudio está compuesta por siete artículos, de los cuales, a través del Análisis de Contenido según la teoría de Bardin (2011), se construyeron seis categorías. La investigación muestra que en el período de la pandemia de Covid-19, las desigualdades digitales limitaron el acceso a la educación como derecho social, especialmente para los estudiantes más pobres, y señala la necesidad de políticas públicas más eficientes para resolver el problema de la exclusión digital, que es un reflejo de las desigualdades sociales. Es necesario que la conexión digital gratuita y universal sea tratada como un derecho ciudadano.Este artigo tem por objetivo analisar a produção científica acerca das desigualdades digitais e sua repercussão no acesso à educação, no contexto da pandemia da Covid-19. Trata-se de uma revisão bibliográfica de trabalhos indexados nas bases de dados: Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO) e Portal de Periódicos CAPES, no período de 2020 e 2021. Compõe a amostra do estudo sete artigos, dos quais por meio da análise de conteúdo foram construídas seis categorias. A pesquisa evidencia que no período da pandemia da Covid-19   as desigualdades digitais limitaram o acesso à educação como direito social, sobretudo de estudantes mais pobres e aponta a necessidade de políticas públicas mais eficientes para a resolução do problema da exclusão digital, que é reflexo das desigualdades sociais.
