SOCIAL MOVEMENTS AND POPULAR EDUCATION: A CRITICAL ANALYSIS OF THE SPEECH OF POLITICAL LEADERS ON THE WEB

Resumo: This theoretical/exploratory article, originated from a doctoral research, funded by the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES), linked to the Latin American Research Network in Rural, City & Social Movements (RedePECC&MS), aimed to analyze, in social thought, how the discourse of influential Brazilian political leaders stimulates “class hatred” and “political hatred”. The time frame was from January 2013 to October 2020, period of diffusion of digital political marketing through platforms such as Facebook and Twitter. The corpus of analysis consisted of 11 discursive fragments of leaders of intense militancy, recognized for their trajectory in defense of social rights, references as representatives of “progressive thinking”, influencers of Social Movements and with great visibility in the media. The result revealed how stimuli and semiotic aspects of “class hatred” were significantly present in the speeches of the then President of the Republic, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, and echoed by several leaders and influencers, incorporating themselves into informal education processes.

El marco temporal fue de enero de 2013 a octubre de 2020, período de difusión del marketing político digital a través de plataformas como Facebook y Twitter. El corpus de análisis estuvo compuesto por 11 fragmentos discursivos de líderes de intensa militancia, reconocidos por su trayectoria en defensa de los derechos sociales, referentes como representantes del “pensamiento progresista”, influenciadores de Movimientos Sociales y con gran visibilidad en los medios. El resultado reveló cómo estímulos y aspectos semióticos del “odio de clases” estuvieron significativamente presentes en los discursos del entonces Presidente de la República, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, y se hicieron eco de varios líderes e influenciadores, incorporándose a los procesos de educación informal.Este artigo teórico/exploratório, originado de uma pesquisa doutoral, financiado pela Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior (CAPES), vinculado à Rede Latinoamericana de Pesquisa em Educação do Campo, da Cidade & Movimentos Sociais (RedePECC&MS), teve por objetivo analisar, no pensamento social, como o discurso de líderes políticos brasileiros influentes estimulam o “ódio de classes” e o “ódio político”. O recorte temporal foi de janeiro de 2013 a outubro de 2020, período de difusão do marketing político digital por meio de plataformas como Facebook e Twitter. O corpus de análise foi constituído por 11 fragmentos discursivos de líderes de militância intensa, reconhecidos por sua trajetória em defesa dos direitos sociais, referências como representantes do “pensamento progressista”, influenciadores dos Movimentos Sociais e com grande visibilidade nos meios de comunicação.
