Resumo: The evolution of the statute of geographic science in the concert of sciences and its relation with the construction of one to know “space” recognized socially forms the thematic central office of this assay. The constant production of new concepts for the traditional geographic categories is placed accurately in this dialectic enters the construction of an independent geographic science and the evolution of the scientific hierarchies; socially recognized e whose synthesis would be in one to know geographic intellectual and that far from breaking up contributes to the enrichment of the notion of social totality.
