Objective: to know how a Group of Pregnant Women and Pregnant Couples has contributedto the experience of the process of pregnancy, childbirth and the puerperium in the perceptionof the participants.Method: qualitative study, carried out with the group of pregnant women at a public universityin the south of the country, with pregnant women and companions. Data were collectedbetween October 2017 and March 2018 through document analysis and interview. The datawere analyzed qualitatively.Results: three categories related to pregnancy, childbirth and birth and the puerperium weregenerated, demonstrating the positive contributions of the group, assisting in the sharing ofexperiences by women and obtaining relevant knowledge and information to the processesexperienced.Final considerations: participation in the group in the pregnancy and puerperal cyclecontributes to decision-making based on scientific knowledge and to changes in the birthprocess in the society.
