Buytendijk and Autism Spectrum Disorder: a phenomenological look at the children’s experience

Resumo: The article adresses issues relevant to the understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) while presenting theoretical-clinical elements of the Dutch phisician and psychologist F. J. J. Buytendijk. The development of studies related to Biology and Physiology by the author, allows na interlocution with current research in the field of Neurosciences. However, the reflection presented here is more phenomenological and seeks to describe the child’s experience with ASD, showing that the body has a spiritual or ontological dimension, that should not be neglected. In the Phenomenology of the Encounter, Buytendijk, illustrates the importance of intersubjective experience not only for the autistic child, bus for each and every human being. However, in the case of individuals with ASD, the experience of na authentic encounter with others can function as a therapeutic elemento in the sense of providing freedom and awakening their won existence.

J. J. Buytendijk. El desarollo de estúdios relacionados con Biología y Fisiología por parte del autor, permite un diálogo con la investigación actual en el campo de la Neurociencia. Sin embargo, la reflexión presentada aqui es más fenomenológica y busca describir la experiencia del niño con TEA, mostrando que el cuerpo tiene uma dimensión espiritual u ontológica, que no debe descuidarse. En la Fenomenología del Encuentro, Buytendijk, ilustra la importância de la experiencia intersubjetiva no solo para el niño autista, sino para todos y cada uno de los seres humanos. Sin embargo, en el caso del individuo com TEA, la experiencia de un encuentro auténtico con los demás puede funcionar como un elemento terapéutico en el sentido de proporcionar libertad y el despertar de la propia existencia.O artigo aborda questões relevantes para a compreensão do Transtorno do Espectro Autista (TEA) ao mesmo tempo em que apresenta elementos teórico-clínicos do médico e psicólogo holandês F. J. J. Buytendijk. O desenvolvimento de estudos relacionados à Biologia e à Fisiologia por parte do autor, permite uma interlocução com as pesquisas atuais no campo das Neurociências. A reflexão que ora se apresenta, contudo, é de teor mais fenomenológico e busca descrever a experiência da criança com TEA, mostrando que o corpo é portador de uma dimensão espiritual ou ontológica, que não deve ser negligenciada. Em A Fenomenologia do Encontro, Buytendijk, ilustra a importância da vivência intersubjetiva não apenas para a criança autista, mas para todo e qualquer ser humano.
