Resumo: György Lukács's study - private approach of the social being - reveals important contribution for the philosophical reflection over the problem of the work as a fundamental element in the explanation of man and the social process, in its ontological foundation. Taking into consideration the notion of totality, it is possible to understand the process in which the men, in the production and reproduction activity of their social existence - complex relationship between nature and sociability - they might be building new possibilities every moment, in which individual and gender would complete each other in the search of an ethics guided through mediations established by the world of work.

O estudo de György Lukács - abordagem particular do ser social - revela–se uma importante contribuição para a reflexão filosófica acerca da problemática do trabalho como elemento fundamental na explicação do homem e do processo social, em seu fundamento ontológico. Tomando em consideração a noção de totalidade, é possível compreender o processo pelo qual os homens, na atividade de produção e reprodução de sua existência social - complexa relação entre natureza e sociabilidade - podem estar construindo novas possibilidades a cada momento, em que indivíduo e gênero se completariam na busca de uma ética orientada pelas mediações estabelecidas pelo mundo do trabalho.
