Defesa: Curitiba, 17/04/2015Inclui bibliografiaResumo: Esta dissertação teve por objetivo principal investigar como se estrutura a representação social do Festival de Inverno da Universidade Federal do Paraná, evento cultural que acontece anualmente em Antonina, Paraná, Brasil, município litorâneo cuja população é de aproximadamente vinte mil habitantes. Para desenvolver a investigação, buscou-se aporte teórico na Teoria das Representações Sociais, proveniente da Psicologia Social, desenvolvida por Serge Moscovici, no ano de 1961, em que se procurou compreender a visão de mundo apresentada pelos sujeitos com relação a determinado fenômeno. Também foram utilizados conceitos como os de turismo, turismo cultural, eventos culturais e os desdobramentos desta interação para com a cidade que sedia o evento. Nesse sentido, recorreu-se às entrevistas semiestruturadas para coletar junto à população os dados, os quais foram interpretados, analisados e organizados de forma a atender os objetivos propostos. A pesquisa empírica demonstrou que o evento altera o cotidiano da cidade, mantendo uma programação cultural que se constitui numa opção de lazer e instrução para as famílias. Os antoninenses entrevistados mencionaram acreditar que os efeitos socioeconômicos sentidos estão sendo, em sua maioria, positivos, tais como: ingresso de divisas e possibilidade de aumentar o conhecimento por meio das atividades programadas. Apesar de não participarem das fases pré (planejamento e organização) e pós (avaliação) evento, os antoninenses opinaram que o Festival já faz parte da cidade e que, de alguma forma, precisa ser rediscutido para ser melhorado. Os residentes mencionaram reconhecer que o evento é um dos principais atrativos turísticos, pois, devido à sua duração, movimenta as atividades do comércio local. O evento também é visto como uma forma de divulgação da cidade enquanto destino turístico. Do ponto de vista acadêmico, acredita-se que a presente pesquisa revelou que é possível o diálogo entre áreas diferentes, numa construção conjunta do conhecimento. Como contribuição social - e até mesmo política - ela indicou que ações como os eventos culturais podem promover o desenvolvimento de municípios de pequeno porte e de parcos recursos, melhorando a qualidade de vida de quem neles vive. Festival de Inverno da UFPR.Abstract: This thesis was aimed to investigate how was being organized the social representation of the Federal University of Paraná Winter Festival, a cultural event that happens annually in Antonina, Parana, Brazil, coastal city with approximately twenty thousand residents. To develop research, the Theory of Social Representations has been used as theoretical support. This theory comes from Social Psychology, formulated by Serge Moscovici, in 1961, when he was intending to understand the world view presented by the subjects with respect to a particular phenomenon. Also concepts were used as the tourism, cultural tourism, cultural events and the consequences of this interaction towards the city that hosts the event. In this sense, we resorted to semi-structured interviews to collect data on the population, which were interpreted, analyzed and organized to reach the proposed objectives. Empirical research has shown that the event has caused a positive impact on the daily life of the city, offering a cultural program that constitutes a leisure option and education for families. The respondents believe that socioeconomic effects were being felt, mostly positive, such as inflow of foreign exchange and the possibility of increasing knowledge through planned activities. Although they do not participate of the pre-stage (planning and organization) nor post (evaluation) event, antoninenses opined that the Festival was already part of the city and, somehow, needed to be reconsidered to be improved. Residents recognized that the event was one of the main tourist attractions, by reason of its duration, moving the local trade. The event was also seen as a form of promotion of the city as a tourist destination. From the academic point of view, it is believed that this research revealed that the dialogue between different areas is possible, in a joint construction of knowledge. As a social contribution - even political - it indicated that actions such as cultural events can promote the development of small cities and scarce resources, improving the quality of life of those who live in it.
