Defesa: Curitiba, 16/09/2015Inclui referências : fls. 153-165Resumo: A linguagem científica é o mecanismo pelo qual a comunicação científica pode ser realizada, ou seja, é através de um conjunto de termos específicos (conceitos) que é possível realizar a comunicação científica. Na Geografia o termo meio ambiente passou a ganhar destaque nas pesquisas a partir da década de 1970, sendo que seus significados aparecem de maneiras diferenciadas (polissemia). Ao consideramos a realização de uma investigação que revelasse os diferentes discursos no qual o termo meio ambiente se insere para Geografia brasileira, entendemos que seria enriquecedora a possibilidade de construir uma análise comparada, que ponderasse os intercâmbios científicos e a mundialização do capital científico. Posto isso, recordamos que a Geografia acadêmica brasileira havia recebido uma importante contribuição da Geografia francesa desde o momento de sua institucionalização, assim acreditamos ser adequado elegê-la para realização de um contraponto. Para Geografia francesa a polissemia do termo meio ambiente é ainda mais complexa, pois em língua francesa existem os termos milieu ambiant e environnement (aparentemente com o mesmo significado). Desta forma, buscando amparar nossa tese, de que haveriam grandes influências da Geografia francesa no discurso ambiental da Geografia brasileira nos baseamos na teoria dos campos de Pierre Bourdieu e procuramos identificar as práticas discursivas na Geografia francesa e na Geografia brasileira que sustentassem a hipótese da existência de um campo ambiental na Geografia. Para tal, nosso objeto de análise foram textos extraídos de três importantes periódicos científicos: Annales de Géographie, Revista Brasileira de Geografia e Boletim Paulista de Geografia, sendo ao total 127 artigos analisados, que foram agrupados de acordo com suas práticas discursivas em relação ao meio ambiente. Assim, constatamos a existência de um campo ambiental na Geografia, também pudemos mapear diferenciações e similaridades nos usos dos termos em francês e português, bem como, constatamos como o interesse das instituições permeiam as atividades científicas e o alcance da mundialização do capital científico na composição do campo ambiental na Geografia.Abstract: The scientific language is the mechanism by which scientific communication can be performed, that is through a set of specific terms (concepts) that can carry out scientific communication. In geography the term environment began to gain prominence in the research from the 1970s, and their meanings appear different ways (polysemy). To consider carrying out an investigation to reveal the different discourses in which the term environment falls to Brazilian Geography, we believe it would be enriching the possibility of building a comparative analysis, to consider the scientific exchanges and the globalization of scientific capital. We remember that the Brazilian academic Geography had received an important contribution of the French Geography from the moment of its institutionalization, so we believe it is appropriate to elect the French geography to perform a counterpoint. For French Geography, the polysemy of the term environment is even more complex, since in French there are two terms milieu ambiant and environnement (apparently with the same meaning). Thus seeking support for our thesis that there would be major influences of the French Geography in environmental discourse of the Brazilian Geography, we rely on the field's theory of Pierre Bourdieu and we seek to the identify the discursive practices in the French Geography and Brazilian Geography that supported the hypothesis of the existence of an environmental field in the Geography. To this end, our object of analysis were extracted texts of three important scientific journals: Annales de Géographie, Revista Brasileira de Geografia and Boletim Paulista de Geografia, in total were analyzed 127 articles, which they were grouped according to their discursive practices in relation to the environment.
