Defesa: Curitiba, 22/02/2013Bibliografia: fls. 172-174Área de concentração : Manejo FlorestalResumo: O presente estudo tem como objetivo geral enriquecer o conhecimento técnico e científico sobre os fragmentos de Floresta Ombrófila Mista e, para isso, foi dividido em cinco capítulos com objetivos específicos. O primeiro capítulo descreve os aspectos gerais que envolveram esta pesquisa. O segundo capítulo analisa e compara as alterações florísticas, fitossociológicas e de estrutura, bem como a mortalidade e o recrutamento. O terceiro capítulo avalia as modificações ocorridas no crescimento das espécies, famílias botânicas e da floresta como um todo, relacionando-os com as variáveis meteorológicas da região. O quarto capítulo testa a acuracidade das projeções diamétricas, empregando os modelos de matriz de transição e razão de movimentação em diferentes amplitudes temporais e intervalos de classe diamétrica. O quinto e último capítulo simula o crescimento em número de árvores e área basal no âmbito de floresta, espécies e famílias botânicas de maior valor de importância, utilizando o método de razão de movimentação. Para isso foram utilizados dados provenientes de um inventário contínuo de um fragmento de Floresta com Araucária com três parcelas permanentes de 1 ha cada e de uma parcela de 0,5 ha, subdivididas em 350 subunidades de 100 m² e uma área amostral de 3,5 ha, que foram medidas anualmente no mês de julho desde 1995 até 2011 na Estação Experimental Rudi Arno Seitz, no município de São João do Triunfo, Paraná. Todos os indivíduos arbóreos com diâmetro à altura do peito igual ou maior que 10,0 cm (DAP ? 10,0 cm) foram identificados e mensurados e durante as remedições todas as árvores mortas e recrutadas foram registradas até o ano de 2011. Pelos resultados esse fragmento apresentou alta diversidade florística, que pouco se alterou durante os anos. As famílias Lauraceae e Myrtaceae tiveram maior riqueza e representatividade bem como as espécies Araucaria angustifolia, Nectandra grandiflora, Ilex paraguariensis e Matayba elaeagnoides. A distribuição diamétrica da área apresentou o comportamento decrescente, típico das florestas multiâneas e mistas. A taxa de recrutamento média foi superior à taxa de mortalidade neste fragmento. O incremento periódico médio em diâmetro da floresta apresentou uma média de 0,22 cm.ano-1, sendo que os incrementos variaram em relação às espécies. O ritmo de crescimento da floresta e de cada espécie se altera, mantendo um aumento gradual, apogeu e logo após senescência, mesmo quando se observa as mesmas classes de diâmetro no decorrer dos anos. Para as projeções diamétricas os resultados indicaram o modelo de razão de movimentação com amplitude temporal de 2 anos e intervalos de classes de 10 cm de diâmetro como os mais recomendados para a realização da prognose do número de árvores. No futuro, a floresta como um todo crescerá consideravelmente em área basal, mas não em número de árvores, conferindo amadurecimento deste fragmento de Floresta Ombrófila Mista.Abstract: The present study aims to enrich the scientific and technical knowledge on a Mixed Araucaria Forest fragment and, for that reason, this study was divided into five chapters with specific goals. The first chapter describes the general aspects of this research. The second chapter analyzes and compares the changes in floristic, phytosociological and structure, as well as mortality and recruitment. The third chapter evaluate the changes in species growth, botanical families and of the forest as a whole, relating them with the meteorological variables in the region. The fourth chapter tested accuracy of diameter projections, using the transition matrix and movement ratio models in different temporal amplitudes and diameter class intervals. The fifth and last chapter simulates the growth in number of trees and basal area inside the forest as a whole, botanical families and species with the greater importance value, using movement ratio model. For this pourpose the used data proceeded from a continuous inventory conducted in a Mixed Araucaria Forest fragment with three permanent sample plots of 1 ha each and one permanent plot of 0.5 ha, subdivided in 350 subunits with 100 m² and 3.5 ha of sampled area, which were measured annually ever in July since 1995 up to 2011, in the Experimental Station Rudi Arno Seitz, in the São João do Triunfo, Paraná. All trees with diameter at breast height equal or greater than 10.0 cm (DBH ? 10.0 cm) were identified and measured, and during remeasurements all recruited and dead trees were counted until the year 2011. The results showed that that fragment had high floristic diversity and has changed little over the years. The Lauraceae and Myrtaceae had greater diversity and representation in this forest as well as the species Araucaria angustifolia, Nectandra grandiflora, Ilex paraguariensis and Matayba elaeagnoides. The diameter distribution presented the decrescent form, typical behavior of allaged and mixed forests. The average recruitment rate was higher than the mortality rate in this fragment. The mean periodic diameter increment of the forest presented an average of 0.22 cm.ano-1, but the increment values vary in relation to species. The growth rate of the forest and for each species changed over the years, maintaining a gradual growth, apogee and after senescence, even when one observes the same diameter classes over the years. The results of diametric projections indicated that the movement ratio model with temporal amplitudes of 2 years and diameter class intervals of 10 cm are the most recommended to the realization of the prognosis of the number of trees.
