O estudo foi desenvolvido na área de Proteção de Guaricana, pertencente à Companhia Paranaense de Energia (COPEL), localizada nos municípios de Morretes e São José dos Pinhais, em três unidades de solo (Cambissolo-Álico A moderado textura argilosa fase relevo montanhoso, Litólico A proeminente textura média fase pedregosa relevo escarpado, Gley Pouco Humico Álico, textura média fase relevo plano). Em cada unidade edáfica levantou-se 34 amostras de 10 m x 30 m distribuídas aleatoriamente. Foram analisados em cada uma das unidades, os seguintes parâmetros: densidade, frequência, dominância, índice de sociabilidade, valor de cobertura, valor de importância, posição sociológica, regeneração natural, distribuição diamétrica da densidade e da área basal, e índice de similaridade entre as unidades. Foram encontradas no Cambissolo, 66 espécies arbóreas, 48 gêneros e 30 famílias, no Gley 58 espécies arbóreas, 46 gêneros e 28 famílias, e no Litólico 62 espécies arbóreas, 51 gêneros e 31 famílias. A heterogeneidade florística nas unidades é relativamente alta, sendo maior no Cambissolo e menor no Gley. Constatou-se que poucas espécies ocorrem exclusivamente em determinada unidade de solo, mas a maioria apresenta características estruturais diferentes em função do solo onde a floresta se encontra. Em relação à área basal e número de árvores por hectare, no Cambissolo encontrou-se 614 árvores e 46.00 m2, no Gley 649 árvores e 27,50 m2 e no Litólico 530 árvores e 36.10 m2. A maioria das espécies nas três unidades edáficas não apresentou distribuição diamétrica regular. Na regeneração natural ocorreram 45.276 indivíduos/ha no Cambissolo, 33.808 indivíduos/ha no Gley e 40.454 indivíduos/ha no solo Litólico. As Espécies mais importantes, na estrutura horizontal da floresta foram, no Cambissolo, Alchornea triplinervia (Spreng) M.A., Ocotea teleiandra (Meis) Mez, Nectandra mollis Nees; no solo Gley, Nectandra mollis Nees, Syagrus romanzoffiana (Cham.) Glassman, Alsophylla phalerata Mart.; no solo Litólico Alchornea triplinervia (Spreng) M.A.; Cabralea canjerana (Vell.) Mart. E Leandra sp. A densidade por posição sociológica apresentou no Cambissolo e no Gley. mais indivíduos no estralo médio, enquanto no Litólico a distribuição foi decrescente do estrato inferior ao superior.This paper is a study of the floristic composition of the arboreal species of the Dense Mountain Ombrophile Forest in the State of Paraná. The study was carried out in the Protected area of Guaricana, property of the Paraná Power Company (Companhia Paranaense de Energia – COPEL), located, in the municipalities of Morretes and São José dos Pinhais, in three soils units, A Moderate Alic Cambisoil argilous texture mountain relief phase, A Proeminent Litolic medium texture stony phase scarp relief, and Alic Low Humic Gley medium texture plain relief phase. In each edaphic unit, 34 samples of 10 m x 30 m aleatorily distributed, were studied. The following parameters were analyzed in each unit: desity, frequency, dominance, sociability index, coverage value, importance value, sociologic position, natural regeneration, density and basal area diametric distribution, as well as the similarity index between units. In the Cambisoil, 66 arboreal species, 48 genres and 30 families were found; in the Gley, 58 arboreal species, 46 genres and 28 families, and in the Litolic, 62 arboreal species, 51 genres and 31 families. The floristic heterogeneity is relatively high in every unit, being higher in Cambisoil and lower in Gley. It was noticed that few species occur exclusively in specific soil unit, but the majority reveals different structural characteristics according to the soil of the forest. In regard to the basal area and the number of trees per hectare, there were 614 trees and 46.00 m2 in Cambisoil, 649 trees and 27.50 m2 in Gley and 530 trees and 36.10 m2 in Litolic soil. Most species in the three edaphic units do not present regular diametric distribution. There were 45.276 seedlings/ha in Cambisoil. 33.808 seedlings/ha in Gley and 40.454 seedlings/ha in the Litolic soil in process of natural regeneration. The most important species in the horizontal structure of the forest were: in Cambisoil, Alchornea triplinervia (Spreng) M. A., Ocotea teleiandra (Meis.) Mez. Nectandra mollis Nees; in Gley soil, Nectandra mollis Nees, Syagrus romanzoffiana (Cham.) Glassman, Alsophylla phalerata Mart.; in Litolic soil, Alchornea triplinervia (Spreng) M. A.. Cabralea canjerana (Vell.) Mart. and Leandra sp.
