Defesa : Curitiba, 09/07/2020Inclui referências: p. 209-232Resumo: Em 1900, Henri Berr criou o periódico científico intitulado Revue de synthèse historique (doravante, RSH), tendo como objetivo principal ser a primeira revista francesa com foco em Teoria e Metodologia da História. A RSH, em um primeiro momento, foi publicada entre 1900 e 1914, quando foi interrompida momentaneamente por conta da 1º Guerra Mundial. Busca-se compreender como ocorreram as defesas teórico-metodológicas da História científica em textos de autores com diferentes trajetórias sócio-intelectuais. Para tanto, utilizasse como fonte textos publicados por diversos pesquisadores na RSH, entre 1900 e 1914; livros, como o Charles Seignobos, O Método Histórico aplicado às Ciências Sociais [La méthode historique appliquée aux sciences sociales] (1901) e o de Henri Berr, A Síntese em História [La Synthèse en Histoire] (1946 [1911]); os necrológios desses autores; cartas trocadas entre estes. Objetiva-se identificar os diferentes debates que historiadores, sociólogos e filósofos tiveram na RSH, nesse período. Também, compreender as diversas proposições teórico-metodológicas que esses pesquisadores defenderam. Ainda, o de entender o papel e a relevância da RSH em abrigar tais arguições dentro da área das Ciências Humanas. Através de uma análise quantitativa, levanta-se informações biográfica dos autores, além de dados acerca das publicações na RSH. Baseando-se teórico-metodologicamente nos trabalhos de Bentivoglio (2012; 2017), sobre a pesquisa de revistas científicas de História, e nos textos de Bourdieu (1983; 1996a; 1996b; 2001), realiza-se a análise qualitativa das fontes. A pesquisa identificou debates que ocorreram dentro da plataforma da RSH, envolvendo diferentes grupos de autores: Berr (1906; 1946 [1911]), Mauss e Hubert (1909), Durkheim (1913); Lacombe (1900; 1901a; 1901b) e Xénopol (1900a; 1900b; 1901; 1902; 1904a; 1904b; 1913); Rickert (1901) e Lacombe (1901c); Seignobos (1901), Berr (1902), Simiand (1903a; 1903b) e Mantoux (1903); Lamprecht (1900; 1905) e Bernheim (1905); e, Masson-Oursel (1913) e Berr (1913). Observou-se que cada pesquisador defendeu posições teóricometodológicas diferentes, de modo a tentar chegar a posições dominantes dentro do campo científico da História (BOURDIEU, 1983). Ademais, concluiu-se que a RSH foi bem-sucedida em seu objetivo inicial, a saber, o de ser a primeira revista a abrigar discussões acerca da Teoria e Metodologia da História. Ainda assim, ela só realizou esse desígnio parcialmente. Afinal, Henri Berr não conseguiu impor sua proposição da síntese histórica, mantendo a característica principal de seus empreendimentos científicos (coleção Evolução da Humanidade e Centro Internacional de Síntese), a pluralidade de visões científicas. Também, parcial por conta do pouco peso relativo dos pesquisadores, dentro do campo científico, que debateram na RSH. Palavras-chave: Revue de synthèse historique. Henri Berr. Síntese histórica. História da Historiografia.Abstract: In 1900, Henri Berr created the scientific review entitled Revue de synthèse historique (RSH), which had as the main objective be the first French review to focus on Theory and Methodology of History. RSH, initially, appeared between 1900 and 1914, when it was briefly interrupted because of World War 1. We seek to comprehend how the arguments of the theoretical-methodological aspects of scientific history occurred, in texts whose authors had different social and intellectual trajectories. Therefore, we use as primary source texts published, in the RSH, by a variety of researches, between 1900 and 1914; books, as such La méthode historique appliquée aux sciences sociales (1901), by Charles Seignobos, and La Synthèse en Histoire (1911), by Henri Berr; the necrologies of these authors; and, their letters. The objective is to identify the different debates that historians, sociologists, and philosophers had on RSH. Also, to comprehend the various theoretical-methodological propositions defended by those researchers. Still, to understand the role and the relevance of RSH to host these debates in the Humanities. Through a quantitative analysis, we gather biographical information of the authors, also, data regarding their publication in RSH. Theoreticalmethodologically based on Bentivoglio's work (2012; 2017), about the research of scientific journals of history, and in Bourdieu's texts (1983; 1996a; 1996b; 2001), we do the qualitative analysis of sources. The research identified the debates that occurred inside the RSH, involving different groups of authors, such as: Berr (1906; 1946 [1911]), Mauss and Hubert (1909), Durkheim (1913); Lacombe (1900; 1901a; 1901b) and Xénopol (1900a; 1900b; 1901; 1902; 1904a; 1904b; 1913); Rickert (1901) and Lacombe (1901c); Seignobos (1901), Berr (1902), Simiand (1903a; 1903b), and Mantoux (1903); Lamprecht (1900; 1905) and Bernheim (1905); Masson-Oursel (1913) and Berr (1913). We observed that each researcher defended different theoretical-methodological positions, in an effort to reach dominant positions inside the scientific field of history (BOURDIEU, 1983). In addition, we have concluded that the RSH was well-succeeded in their initial goal, specifically, to be the first review to harbour debates about Theory and Methodology of History. Yet, the RSH only partially achieved this objective. After all, Henri Berr couldn't impose his historical synthesis' proposition, keeping the main characteristic of his scientific's enterprises (the collection L'Évolution de l'Humanité and the International Synthesis Center), the plurality of scientific views. Also, partially because of the weakness of the researchers, that debated in RSH, in the scientific field. Keywords: Revue de synthèse historique. Henri Berr. Historical Synthesis.
