Defesa : Curitiba, 27/03/2018Inclui referências: p.291-333Resumo: Esta tese investiga o papel constitutivo da imprensa escrita nas ideias relacionadas à educação no contexto de instauração da República no Brasil, por meio da análise do jornal Quinze de Novembro, que circulou no Paraná entre 24 de novembro de 1889 e 2 de maio de 1890 por iniciativa de Narciso Figueras, seu diretor-proprietário. Tomado como fonte e objeto, o impresso foi pensado como veículo por meio do qual seus agentes se posicionaram frente às necessidades e mudanças anunciadas pela nova forma de governo, ao mesmo tempo em que encetavam debates sobre a educação de modo mais amplo e sobre a instrução pública no Paraná. Utilizamos como fontes jornais, revistas e livros e dicionários editados e publicados no mesmo período no Paraná e no Brasil, documentos oficiais e obras de arte. Trabalhamos com uma noção ampliada de educação de acordo com a orientação de Maria Lúcia Pallares- Burke, ao consideramos o jornal Quinze de Novembro um veículo de comunicação e educação informal em trânsito dentro do espaço público e, como tal, partícipe ativo da estrutura comunicacional imbuído da transmissão de valores, comportamentos e difusão de conhecimento. Nesse sentido percebemos também que o jornal foi vetor de iniciativas que colocaram em prática os projetos de educação que entendemos estar em sintonia com a ideia de "forças educativas" delineadas por José Gondra e Alexandra Schueler. Para compreendermos o jornal dentro daquele momento histórico de instauração do novo regime político, no qual os leitores estavam experimentando um "tempo novo", utilizamos como ferramentas de análise as categorias de "horizontes de expectativa" e "espaço de experiência" de Reinhart Koselleck. Selecionamos o jornal como ponto estratégico de observação e análise, pois através de suas páginas foi possível perceber o movimento gerado pela dinâmica das relações e dos diálogos que foram travados. Nesse sentido, foi importante a contribuição do conceito de "ecossistemas" de Jean Sirinelli. A tese aqui defendida é a de que o jornal Quinze de Novembro se instituiu estrategicamente como voz autorizada das ideias defendidas não só pelo novo regime, mas também daquelas que circularam no contexto paranaense, de cujos pressupostos desempenhou um papel importante como veículo agregador e motivador para o encontro de forças educativas, na medida em que foi além do de um mero divulgador de iniciativas da própria sociedade oitocentista paranaense, no intuito de inseri-la no debate nacional. Palavras-chave: história da Educação, Proclamação da República, Paraná, Imprensa.Abstract: This thesis scrutinizes the constructive role of the written press about the ideas related to education in the context of the instauration of the Republic in Brazil through the analizes of the Quinze de Novembro newspaper, which circulated in Paraná between November, 24th and May 2nd of 1890 by the initiative of Narciso Figueras, its director and owner. Taken as source and object, the pressed was thought as a vehicle throught which its agents stood in the face of the necessities and changes anounced by the new form of government, and at the same time, began debates about education in a more amplified manner and also about the Public Institution in Paraná. We used as source newspapers, magazines, books and dictionaries edited and published at the same period in Paraná and Brazil, official documents and works of art. We worked with an amplified awareness of education according to Maria Lúcia Pallares-Burke's orientation, when considering the Quinze de Novembro newspaper a mean of communication and informal education in transit within public space and, and as it is, active party to the communicational structure responsible for the transmission of values, behaviors and knowledge spreading. In this sense, we also realize that the newspaper was a vector of initiatives which put in practice the projects of education we understand to be in syntony with the ideias "educational forces" outlined by José Gondra and Alexandra Schueler. To understand the newspaper within that historical moment of the new political regime instauration, in which the readers were experimenting a "new age", we use as analysis tools the categories "horizon of expectation" and "space of experience" from Reinhart Koselleck. We selected the newspaper as a strategic point of observation and analysis, for through its pages it was possible to perceive the movement created by the dinamic of relations and the dialogs that were held. In this sense, it was important the contribution of the "ecosystems" concept from Jean Sirinelli. The thesis, here defended, is that the Quinze de Novembro newspaper was strategicaly instituted as autorized voice of the defended ideas, not only by the new regime, but also the ones which circulated within the paranaense context, we think, played an important role as agreggator and motivational vehicle for the encounter of educational forces, as it was more than a mere promoter of the 80's society's initiatives in Paraná, in the will of inserting it in the national debate.
