Meteorological variables such as temperature, solar radiation, relative humidity and rainfall can be limiting factors of growth. Therefore, the present study aims to assess the growth in height, Diameter at Breast Height (DBH) and the Root Collar Diameter (RCD) and their relationship with meteorological variables, as well as demonstrate the fit hypsometric function proposed by Näslund by the method of the inflection point for the species Acacia mearnsii, Mimosa scabrella, Eucalyptus grandis and Ateleia glazioveana. The experimental area is located in the city of Frederico Westphalen - RS, which were implanted in four species studied in four spacings, in a randomized block design. Correlation analysis between growth and meteorological variables was performed. The meteorological variable that had the highest correlation with the increase in all variables studied growth was the absolute minimum temperature, with values of "r" between 0.48 and 0.82, indicating that this variable can be considered a limiting growth. One of the characteristics found in the correlation was improved when the variation is studied according to the four seasons of the year, especially for the summer and autumn. Inversion occurred in the sign of the correlation for the maximum temperature from summer to autumn, demonstrating the importance of the study of the growth by performing the division into seasons. In the study of hypsometric relation both species showed the values estimated asymptote fairly close to the actual values found in the region (Acacia mearnsii = 31 m, Mimosa scabrella = 29.2 m, Eucalyptus grandis = 68.8 m and Ateleia glazioveana = 22 m). The adjustment performed quite efficient for estimating the hypsometric relation of the species studied.
