Defesa: Curitiba, 28/04/2008Inclui bibliografiaResumo: Esta pesquisa tem como objetivo investigar que representações as futuras pedagogas, estudantes do curso de Pedagogia têm acerca de Meio Ambiente e de Educação Socioambiental. Partimos do pressuposto de que a formação de pedagogas não oferece as informações necessárias para promover a Educação Socioambiental na escola, contribuindo para uma representação de aprendizagem pouco significativa e pouco reflexiva. Como metodologia optamos pela pesquisa qualitativa. Para a coleta de dados utilizamos a técnica de Grupo Focal, tendo como sujeitos da pesquisa, 23 formandas de três universidades de Curitiba, Paraná, uma pública e duas privadas, sendo que uma das universidades privadas tem em seu currículo a disciplina Meio Ambiente como obrigatória e a pública como optativa. Posteriormente, os dados obtidos foram analisados conforme a técnica de análise de conteúdo, de Bardin (1977). Os resultados revelaram que as universidades que não têm em seu currículo uma disciplina obrigatória específica relacionada ao Meio Ambiente ou a Educação Socioambiental, não oportunizam condições para uma aprendizagem significativa e consistente sobre os referidos temas. Neste caso, as formandas destacaram a fragilidade de algumas disciplinas do curso que, por suas estruturas, poderiam discutir alguns dos temas em profundidade e, no entanto, não o fazem. Além disso, revelaram por meio de suas falas representações de Meio Ambiente naturalistas e antropocêntricas (REIGOTA, 1995). As estudantes do curso de Pedagogia da universidade que aborda os temas em forma de uma disciplina, alegaram também que além desse formato, estes temas surgem sob o aspecto interdisciplinar. Constatamos ainda que o fato de cursarem a disciplina Meio Ambiente contribuiu para a construção de representações de Meio Ambiente globalizantes (REIGOTA, 1995). O estudo permitiu que concluíssemos que a inserção de disciplina relacionada à Educação Socioambiental nos cursos de Pedagogia pode significar a conquista de um espaço para discussões teóricas e metodológicas, que propiciem às futuras pedagogas uma formação mais abrangente relacionada à temática ambiental. Além da inserção de uma disciplina obrigatória relacionada à esta temática na grade curricular do curso de Pedagogia, sugerimos a atualização curricular constante, de tal forma a garantir as adequações necessárias à formação profissional conforme as exigências do processo educativo, bem como a formação permanente quanto às questões socioambientais. Acreditamos também, que as instituições devam investir na extensão, possibilitando o contato das estudantes com os temas Meio Ambiente e Educação Socioambiental, de forma reflexiva. Além disso propomos o investimento na realização de cursos, simpósios, seminários, dentre outros eventos, que viabilizem discussões e reflexões sobre as questões socioambientais que repercutam na escola e na sociedade de uma forma geral.Abstract: The aim of this research is to investigate what representations the future pedagogues, Pedagogy course students have in relation to the Environment and Social-Environmental Education. Concerning the presupposed that the pedagogues formation does not offer the necessary information to promote SocialEnvironmental Education at school, contributing to a meaningless and not-much reflexive learning representation. As methodology we opted by the qualifying research. As for the data survey we used the Focal Group technique, having as research subjects 23 graduating students of three universities - one public and two private institutions in Curitiba - Paraná. One of the private universities has in its curriculum the Environment discipline and the public university has it as an optional discipline. Afterwards, the obtained data was analyzed according to the content analysis technique- Bardin (1977). The results show that the universities that do not have an obligatory specific discipline related to the Environment or SocialEnvironmental education do not provide conditions for a meaningful and consistent learning about the referred subjects. In this case, the graduating senior students evidenced the fragility of some disciplines of the course whose structures could deeply discuss some subjects. The students of the university that covers these topics in a discipline also claim that besides this shape, these topics emerge under an interdisciplinary aspect. This research permitted us to conclude the input of these Social-Environmental related disciplines in Pedagogy courses might mean the conquest of space to theorical and methodological discussions, which provides to the future pedagogues a wide-ranging formation related to Environmental issues. Taking these confirmations in account some suggestions come in handy as the constant curricular up-date, granting the necessary arrangements to the professional formation according to the demands of the educational process, as well as the permanent formation in relation to Social-Environmental issues. We also believe that the institutions should invest in the extension, providing the contact of the students with Environment and Social-Environmental Education issues in a reflexive way.
