Defesa: Curitiba, 02/05/2016Inclui referências : fls. 269-281Resumo: O presente estudo aborda a espacialidade religiosa e sua relação com a Umbanda na cidade do Rio Grande/RS. O desígnio da Tese consiste no diálogo científico referente aos locais de manifestação cultural, os Terreiros de Umbanda e suas extensões religiosas nos territórios de sentido devocional. As manifestações umbandistas coligam a identidade devocional da população rio-grandina; elas constituem igualmente o elo entre o plano da imaterialidade sagrada, representada pelas Entidades umbandistas e seus religiosos, contíguos ao mundo material, manifestado fora e nos Terreiros. A revelação sociocultural que os envolve, aponta também para fatores do ecletismo religioso e a presença da religiosidade como vínculo do espaço relacional na sua constituição, exibida nos Terreiros, os quais contemplam o cenário social e religioso citadino. Contudo, muitos deles, apesar de serem de difícil identificação na paisagem urbana rio-grandina, por apreciarem somente cômodos de residências particulares e por não serem tão expostos aos meios midiáticos, os Terreiros mantêm, em seus interiores, um universo ímpar. E compõem como pressupostos para o estudo das relações dos umbandistas com os símbolos as atribuições teóricas de Pierre Bourdieu (1930-2002), e a interpretação da espacialidade religiosa de Paul Ricoeur (1913-2005), atribuída à linguagem constituída nos grupos umbandistas passível de uma hermenêutica. Assim, a linguagem religiosa dos Terreiros de Umbanda, manifestada por seus religiosos, confere o existencial que incita o investigar integrado às suas espacialidades. Para istos,o bforie eox emrcuinddao ad op easgqiru ies ad oin s elonctuirs, ensotes grupos umbandistas de três Terreiros: Centro Espiritualista "Reino de São Jorge", Centro Espiritualista "Tenda de São Jorge" e Centro Espírita de Umbanda "Cristo Redentor", situados na área periférica rio-grandina. Os espaços/territórios denominados Terreiros, de tradições vivas e com linguagens próprias dos grupos umbandistas que as compõem como espaços simbólicos, por meio dos ritos, cultos, festas, musicalidade, cheiros e da própria linguagem religiosa, exercem a relação de poder, essa conferida à autoridade religiosa dos umbandistas. Assim, o estudo visa à contribuição social que admita a leitura científica desprovida de convencionalismos, ao realizar a análise geográfica nos locais de manifestação umbandista.Abstract: The present study approaches the religious spatiality and its relation with the Umbanda in the city of Rio Grande/RS. The purpose of the Thesis consists in the scientific dialogue in relation of the places of cultural manifestation, the Terreiros de Umbanda and their religious extensions in devotional sense territories. The umbandista manifestations link the devotional identity of the rio-grandina population which constitute equally the link among the plan of the sacred immateriality, represented by Entidades umbandistas and their followers, united to the material world, manifested outside and inside the Terreiros. The sociocultural revelation that it is involved, also points to factors of religious eclecticism and the presence of religiosity as a connection of the social and religious city space. However, many of them, although being of difficult identification on the urban rio-grandina landscape, because appreciating only private residence rooms and because not being so exposed to media, the Terreiros maintain, in their interiors, a particular universe. And they compound as premises for the study of the relations of umbandistas with the symbols, the theoretic atributions of Pierre Bourdieu (1930-2002), and the interpretation of the religious spatiality of Paul Ricoeur (1913-2005), attributed to the language constituted in the umbandistas groups liable of a hermeneutic. Then, the religious language of the Terreiros de Umbanda, manifested by its followers, gives the existential that urges the investigation about the world that is integrated to their spatiality. For this, it was done the orfe saecatinrcgh ainn dlo ocuf sfe ienl itnhge, umbandista groups of three Terreiros: Centro Espiritualista "Reino de São Jorge", Centro Espiritualista "Tenda de São Jorge" e Centro Espírita de Umbanda "Cristo Redentor", located in the periphery of Rio Grande. The spaces/territories called Terreiros, with alive traditions and with own languages of the umbandista groups that constitute them as symbolic spaces, by the rites, cults, parties, musicality, smells and the proper religious language, exercises, the relation of power, that is conferred to the religious authority of the umbandistas.
