Defesa: Curitiba, 26/03/2014Inclui referênciasResumo: No contexto do mundo atual, em que as tecnologias da informação ganham destaque, a comunicação ocupa papel fundamental também no processo de ensino e aprendizagem. Embora avanços tecnológicos da comunicação tenham contribuído para possibilidades de mediar e potencializar a aproximação entre as áreas da educação e da comunicação, a comunicação é ainda apresentada como um dos obstáculos nas relações pessoais em sala de aula. A constatação desse paradoxo provocou a inquietação da presente pesquisa. Diante de investimentos de políticas públicas, da estrutura das escolas, do interesse por parte dos professores, surgiu a indagação: que lacunas ainda dificultam a aproximação da interface Comunicação e Educação com a cultura escolar? Essa é a questão-problematizadora desta investigação, que se fundamenta principalmente nos referenciais teóricos dos Estudos Culturais e nos teóricos da interface Comunicação e Educação. São objetivos da pesquisa: investigar como os professores compreendem a relação entre os dois campos de conhecimento, de que forma a aproximação dessas duas culturas tem contribuído para melhorar a comunicação em sala de aula e como a cultura escolar dificulta ou possibilita o uso dos potenciais tecnológicos e comunicacionais no trabalho pedagógico. Situando a comunicação humana na questão central da pesquisa, foram investigados os dizeres de professores de uma escola de ensino fundamental e médio da cidade de Londrina-PR. A pesquisa foi realizada através de diálogos orientados por um roteiro semiestruturado, em três encontros com 17 professores de diferentes disciplinas. A análise das entrevistas sinalizou que existem dificuldades no aspecto da linguagem, do domínio técnico, da forma de pensar, além dos próprios limites de condições de trabalho. Salvo raras exceções, há um consenso sobre a importância da aproximação das duas áreas de conhecimento e os professores manifestam satisfação ao observar que, ao aproximar a cultura midiática da cultura escolar, pode-se estreitar também o diálogo com seus alunos. Palavras-chave: Cultura escolar; Cultura midiática; Comunicação e Educação; Escola.Abstract: Communication plays an important role in personal interactions during the learning-teaching process. It's observed, with the maturation of the research and the systematization of interface Communication and Education practices, that even though the technological advances enable to mediate and enhance communication, it is still presented as one of the obstacles in the personal relationships in the classroom. From this paradox arose the impetus for concerns that anchor the question surrounding the present research: facing the investments in public policies, in the school structures, the interest of the teachers, where are the gaps to bring the Communication and Education interface to school culture closer? The research is founded in the media culture interest and in the school culture. Due to that, the basis was mainly focused in the Cultural Studies of Education and the Communication about the centrality of the culture in actions which involve communicational relationship within the school universe. Putting human communication in the central issue of the research, the teachers' impressions concerning the proximity of the media culture and to the school culture were investigated in the learningteaching process in a boarding and high school in Londrina. Searching for answers, interviews were carried out with 17 teachers of different subjects on how they comprehend enhances and difficulties found in the Communication and Education interface in the classroom. The analyses of the interviews showed that, with rare exceptions, there's a consensus on the importance of bringing both areas of knowledge closer. Still, it is huge the difficulty found, may it be in the language aspect, technical mastery, of enhances, besides the working conditions limitations. In spite of the limitations, the teachers manifest satisfaction when observing that bringing media culture closer to the school culture, they also approximate the dialog with their students. But for the technological enhances of communication to have effect it's necessary to have more investment in the first way of communication, the personal one.
