Diante desse cenário, surgem incertezas sobre a capacidade dos cursos de Agronomia promoverem uma educação integral. Esta deve possibilitar aos futuros Agrônomos se perceberem como profissionais, inseridos na sociedade e na realidade de trabalho. Acredita-se que o desenvolvimento das relações humanas passa pelo processo educativo, possibilitando ao acadêmico transformar-se em um cidadão consciente do seu papel social. O modelo reprodutivista no ensino superior encontra-se superado e, para tal a universidade deve contribuir também no papel de mediadora das transformações sociais. Assim, um novo modelo pode possibilitar a formação do acadêmico, capacitando-o a atuar na sua emancipação social, econômica, política e cultural. Este estudo originou-se da vontade de alguns educadores idealistas, corajosos e comprometidos com a educação, e da vontade de formar profissionais integrais que saibam fazer uso da profissão com valor, dignidade e comprometimento social. O ensino pode permitir aprofundar os conhecimentos técnicos, capacitando-os como pesquisador, desenvolvendo e exercitando a consciência crítica, enfocando a interdisciplinaridade e as relações humanas. É desejável um profissional que saiba fazer uso do diálogo e do respeito ao agricultor familiar. Destaca-se a importância do Agrônomo como educador e a sua forte relação com o homem do campo. O presente estudo ainda possibilitou observar, refletir e analisar a formação do Engenheiro Agrônomo sob um olhar interdisciplinar, identificando alguns eventos possibilitadores da formação, além de realizar entrevistas semi-estruturadas com profissionais da área. Analisou-se o perfil dos profissionais formados e seus conflitos com as demandas do novo cenário do espaço agrário. Conclui-se que, diante destas modificações, há necessidade de mudanças na formação do Engenheiro Agrônomo, envolvendo numa participação eficaz todos os atores do setor agrário, iniciando o processo nas universidades com seus educadores, priorizando uma ação dialógica entre o estudante de agronomia, educadores, profissionais e o homem do campoAbstract: Fast changes, with impacts specially in the agrarian space, are happening in the world. In this scenery, uncertainties about the capacity of agronomy courses to promote an integral education arise. The education should give to future agronomists they own recognition as a professional inserted in the society and in the job market reality. It is believed that the human relationships development goes through the educational process which will give the chance to the academic of becoming a conscious citizen of his social role. The reproductivist model in the undergraduate education is outdated then the university should assume its mediator role to the social transformations. A new model should contribute to the academic's formation qualifying him to act for his social, economic, political and cultural emancipation. This study was originated from the will of some idealistic and courageous educators who are committed with the education, to look for graduation of integral professionals that know how to use the career with value, dignity and social responsibility. The education can allow the students to expand the technical knowledge, to develop and to exercise the critical conscience focusing on interdisciplinary and human relationships, qualifying them as researchers. It is desirable a professional that knows how to dialogue, respecting the family farmer. It is important an agronomist as educator and with strong relationship with the man of the field. The present study allowed to observe, to contemplate and to analyze the agronomist's formation under a interdisciplinary vision, identifying some events that make possible the formation. Semi structured interviews with professionals of the area were also accomplished. It was analyzed the profile of professionals and their conflicts with the demands of the new scenery of the agrarian space. It is concluded that, in front of these changes, it is necessary correction on the education of agronomists.
